I create female or male characters depending on what character(s) I am developinf in my books at the time. Often that happens to be female characters because it makes it easier for me to create their personality. Others have various reason, some as simple as preference, others duw to the hit box theory and some purely because its more visually appealing for them. I can't see why it should matter though. If people are getting confused by this or its bothering them then simply put, they are either a little immature (though not meant in an insulting sense) or part of the problem when it comes to gamers who happen to be female. Gamers are gamers after all.
