So, I jumped into D1 the other day, deleted my Titan and started playing. I had more fun running the original story, poking through my vault and pulling out old weapons then I have had in D2.... period. The guns in D1 just felt better, firefly actually worked, shots felt krisp, Exotics feel Exotic...... Why oh why did Bungie scrap everything in D1, I feel like D2 would have been SOOOOOOO much better if it simply continued from what we had. If you could keep 1 thing to bring from D1 to D2 what would it be? For me it was simply the guns... ok, not just the guns but how they felt, shot, damage they did... man I loved my Scout Rifles in D1.

Edited by draycole: 2/19/2019 7:33:48 PMWhat you're experiencing isn't necessarily a case of D1 being better. Im willing to bet you have a ton of hours into D1. And as such D1 has that "home" feel to it. For those who didn't spend hundreds or thousands of hours in D1. To them, D1 and D2 are practically the same game. And for all intents and purposes.... They are. As a matter of fact D1 and D2 being too similar was one of the big complaints when D2 laucnhed. Some of the stuff you mentioned can be attributed to some changes like the field of view and a reduction of aim assist and even the sounds of the guns. But by and large with things like how the overrall dynamic of the game is played how much damage weapons do etc. Things are the same
So..... Why oh why did Bungie scrap everything in D1, I feel like D2 would have been SOOOOOOO much better if it simply continued from what we had.
For the fanboys yes But you need to remember how very few people enjoyed D1. And not everyone would be excited about its old worn out engine for the next 10 years
