They put a lot of effort into making the game suck this hard. Seriously. The low effort version would be to just clone Vanilla D1, they didn't do that, they actively made things worse. General - Characters don't have individual Inventories beyond weapons and armor. - Vault space reduced and everything is in 200 slots, no separation. - No grimoire. - No collectibles (eg Dead ghosts, Calcified Fragments) - Vendors don't sell gear. - All vendors use a token system. - Vendor level not displayed. - Shaders are one time use. - All gear automatically levelled up. - Ships and sparrows only from bright engrams. - Exotics and Legendaries not challenging to get. - No engram separation. - Static rolls on all gear. - Subclasses dumbed down. - Some armour perks non existent (Increased Reload Speed, Increased Grenade Throw Distance, Increased Melee speed, Increased Ammo) - Perks on exotics dumbed down (eg: Mechaneer's Tricksleeves... that should just be a legendary) Story - Not replayable from the map. - No heroic story playlist. - Excludes Strikes from the story mission list. Strikes - No strike scoring. - No strike specific loot. - No heroic strike playlist (yet) - Not replayable from the map. - Separated from random teammates after every strike. - Bosses like to teleport away after you damage them a little bit. (especially Exodus Crash) - Not included with Story missions as part of the main game. Raid - Missing loot (Legendary Shotgun, Fusion Rifle, Sidearm, Ghost, Sparrow, Ship) - No raid specific perks on any raid gear. - Only 1 Boss. - Prestige mode only for cosmetics, no light level increase. - Tokens can only be redeemed once you beat the raid. Failure to beat the entire raid results in no reward. *sigh* I'm going to try to be nice (I'm sick, so bear with me...): yes, it is a different dev team. It's a different product, and it's launch is in no way tied to the end of D1. The team that was working on it primarily began around the time of Dark Below, and the products were developed independently. So by the time Y3 came around, all the core design was already done and coded in D2. None of the Y3 changes were ever going to go into D2, because the development cycle for them was already done. Maybe it's because of my work in the industry, and as a coder in general, but the software development life cycle doesn't work like a lot of people think it does. They didn't go into Y3, and then just take D1 and put the D2 graphic on it to move forward. D2 was designed in Y1. So nothing from the end of the previous game was likely going to affect the new one. Again, they aren't the same code base or product, they are two different bases and products, and they were designed seperately from each other. You can't really link the end of D1 to the beginning of D2 from a publishing standpoint: it makes sense logically to consumers, but not practically to developers.

Finished that content in 3 hours and hated every moment of it. Got prometheus lens right after finished the adventures, proceed to switch games

Despite all the constant changes, D1 was infinitely better. The Kinetic weapons slot is boring and the leveling system is garbage. After this new half baked DLC after only a few days I'm bored with it already. The new raid is barely a reason to keep going cuz it's as half baked and SAME as the rest of the encounters. WHO WANTS TO BLOW UP ANOTHER SPIDER TANK??!!....ANYONE??!!. Geesh.
