[EDIT: Love how the Bungie Riders are down voting this ... it's not a slam, it's common sense not to buy something unseen. You don't buy a car blindly / unseen and 'trust' that the manufacturer has given you what you were hoping for.] Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me .... Moral of the story? Give up hope on Bungie until they actually PROVE / SHOW some value, THEN, and only THEN buy their product. I am sooooo glad I held out buying the Expansions in the end. The only way they'll strive to do better, is if you don't buy their product anymore until it's released and proven. Then, maybe they'll put out a quality product from the outset. No more pre-orders or 'first to buy' for this guy .... I'll wait for other suckers to buy and review first.

  • I pre-ordered D2 solely for the Beta access. We found quite a few problems in the beta and reported them accordingly (slow super charging, slow ability charging, dislike of two primaries and a heavy, nothing feeling special). The idea was that the problems we found in the Beta would be fixed on release. They weren't, they were compounded by EVEN MORE problems which were pounced on immediately. And ignored as near as we could tell. No acknowledgement that the token system sucks, no strike rewards, etc. etc. etc.

  • Felt the same way about bio ware and mass effect 3. I havnt bought anything from them since. But I don't see D2 on that scale of a let down. I see it as a game and do I enjoy it long enough to get my value out of it. Yes. I can blow $20 and get a lot less for it. But you are absolutely right. For those that are so upset, they should just quit their bitching and talk with their money.

  • It's entertainment. Not a car! Nearly all entertainment is bought sight unseen. The only alternative is to listen to those yelling loudest. I like to make up my own mind. If I bought Curse of Osiris for the price of a car... I'd be yelling too! But I got a great deal. Paid like fifteen for it and let me tell you it's got some cool stuff in it. What a deal. How much did you pay? All the carryin' on. You should be ashamed of yourself. Betraying yourself for likes and upvotes. It is every bit as good if not better than D.B and H.O.W. I feel sorry for you slaves to the trend.

  • Well, it is not, not in the slightest.
It's entertainment. Not a car! Nearly all entertainment is bought sight unseen.
... and therein lays the problem. You allow this to be 'acceptable business practice'. I feel sorry for you slaves to the trend.
I didn't ... I didn't buy it because I learned from past experiences with Bungie. The only 'slaves' here are the ones that continue to buy this broken game and tell themselves they got a 'great deal'. Yeah, nah. I'll pick it up down the road when it's it's 50% off or less if they've fixed the core issues with the updates.

  • It's actually pretty good for $20. How can you have any input, if you haven't played the game? Never let reason get in the way of a good opinion.

Seen enough on YT and friends ... read reviews ... I'll wait until it's further discounted, thanks. And it's not just about the Expansion, it's about the general state of the game - there's a lot broken here in terms of on-going "fun" and replay. I'm not expecting D1, but I'm expecting them to hopefully implement a lot of the things that made D1 fun (skill trees, weapon / equipment perks, etc ...)

I agree. The base needs a lot of work. Hopefully, they are serious about fixing things.

  • D1V, I can assure you the amount of time Bungie put into developing price to market entry point in dlc was equally as much as developing actual game. A crapton of science goes into determing where cost benefit analysis will fail a product. <imho> $20 is a great entry point. Movie, small coke and popcorn range. Not defending Bungie but they know how to advertise, market and price things. Once again <imho>. They do these things better than actually coding a project anymore. Shame.

You're right, their marketing team is pretty damn good (with the exception of the #twotokensandablue debacle ... lol) ...
