Look, here’s the thing - I think by now, and after 3 years, Bungie have seen and read all the grievances there is to see and read about Destiny. Everyone’s said everything a million times over, so, apart from any feedback regarding any new minor alterations, there’s nothing more to say that hasn’t already been said by players, repeatedly
So despite all this, if the current state of Destiny is the game they’ve created regardless, and therefore players are still dissatisfied, then perhaps we have to seriously consider just moving on elsewhere
Look, as a business, I’m sure Bungie and Activision see the forums as helpful feedback - whether they respond to it or not, along with their analytics, it helps them fine-tune the game to endeavour to maximise profits. But if this is the result, what’s the point anymore of coming here?
We’re buying into Destiny with our money. Our hard-earned money. And games aren’t cheap. In an age where wages have been stagnating for many years while the cost of living has risen, our money is more precious than ever. And this is compounded by a sense that certain developers and/or publishers are living in a bubble
Compared to many many games, the value simply isn’t there in Destiny’s content. We’re paying a lot for very little. And after 3 years, there’s the sense that Destiny is STILL on the rocks, that Bungie are STILL pulling some of the same old stunts. And so perhaps it’s time for those of us who are disenfranchised enough to finally throw in the towel
And sadly say, enough is enough

The saddest thing is people like myself who make like 35k a yr and work all the time, spend what money they have on games they hope will be fun. Then it just go to shit Everytime. Hard to enjoy any game these days. Companies like bungie preach about giving a shit when all they care about is the color green. It's -blam!-ing horseshit
Companies like bungie preach about giving a shit when all they care about is the color green. It's -blam!-ing horseshit
Indeed. What seems painfully obvious is that these companies have increasingly diminished respect for the buying public, taking them for granted. So instead of being grateful that people are giving them their precious money, their hard-won money, in a society where the majority of working people are less well off than a few decades ago and are now being financially squeezed, companies are instead simply looking for more ways to milk the public It’s like a spreadsheet cancer that’s weaved its way through business practices with scant regard for the reality of ordinary working people’s lives

We were sold the promise of an exciting premise. Yet, in the same way that many movie adaptations can't hold water compared the the book source material, Destiny couldn't deliver on the universe it teased. The pieces are there. The passion is there (at least among some of the community and some of the devs). There just isn't the magic that kept players around the first time. I finally bought my white ps4 Destiny bundle because my friend showed me the promise. Playing Halo growing up, I knew of the ability of Bungie to reach great heights of storytelling and gameplay. Mix that with some Borderlands and I'm sold! My wife bought me the deluxe edition as a gift, she knew how much I loved it and she enjoyed it too. We planned on buying her a ps4 and playing together this time. I'm glad we didn't. It would've been a waste of our hard earned money. Yes, I'm glad I didn't play D2 with my significant other because this game isn't significant anymore. R.I.P. Destiny, my Destiny is to have you disappoint me and let me move on

Agreed!! Warframe ftw!! =]

Bungie failed creating this game and now they are trying to pass it off as if they know what they are doing. The sad thing about it, they can't anymore and many know a lot of this is from the contact that they have with Activision that has a lot to do with it. They bit off way more then they can chew and can't keep up with the contract. On top of all that, they put another new team to create a sequel that has no feel for the game? What made matter worse is knowing Luke smith had no business running a sequel knowing he had no experience at all being a lead. Then they go on lying about the XP twice like idiots and after making the statement "we know we need to be more open" they creat a freaking paywall by removing content from the base game. WTH is wrong with this company?
-
Well put.
-
That's where I am at. And husband was last month. I am glad I didn't buy DLC. Bungie's utter contempt for us is obvious now. And any game that charges me $60 for base game then locks me out of content because I won't buy a worthless DLC is one that puts greed before any other consideration. And in an online cooperative multiplayer game this will kill it because the player base will disappear and match making breaks after that. Thanks for the Grinch stole Christmas antics people of Bungie. I am uninstalling this app and the game. No point keeping something I can no longer play. Dirty trick that was... Way to break our hearts.
-
Whaaaaaaaaaaa. No one will miss you.
-
I won't miss you either =) glad we can agree
-
Actually that is not true. I will in fact miss this guardian and her better half. Hope to see you again if things improve for you guardians. Wolf
-
Thanks, Wolf. Look me up sometime. Maybe Bungie will get their act together. I will always hope
-
Have you never played any mmo ever..... smh

Edited by HiPOJaK: 12/8/2017 12:56:32 AMTypically, not getting the DLC locks you out of the NEW content, not OLD content they already paid for and were playing prior to DLC release. That's like not buying the after market spoiler for your car and the company locks your headlights off.
-
That is a horrible reference. Some of the famous examples is WoW and GW2. After DLC dropped they lock old activities out PERMANENTLY. Yet no one is angry at that, but your angry because of this? It’s the double standard of the gaming community that has failed. P.S. read the TOS you purchased a license to play there game, you didn’t purchase the game. As such they have the creative freedom to change the game at there convenience. Do read these things they are there for a reason.
-
If that was fhe only issue maybe. But it's on a long list and you well know it. Lying to us being my biggest anger right now. Shows lack of respect for game and customers. Which is what we are... Their customers.

Edited by HiPOJaK: 12/8/2017 1:22:46 AMAh but you misunderstand. Prior to the DLC, you could participate in this little thing called Prestige Mode for the raid. For some, going platinum or getting 100% (depending on your system of choice) is their goal. While prestige mode wasn't useful or worth while, it was required for an achievement or a trophy. Why is that a big deal? If you didn't get the DLC, you are no longer capable of getting that achievement or trophy. Meaning: you can no longer "complete" the game in it's base mode. This is against the terms of agreement (an actual contract) between Bungie and Microsoft and Bungie and Sony. Saying WoW did similar things is fair enough, but back when I played WoW I was still able to experience all of the vanilla content with or without the first expansion. You can no longer do that with Destiny 2 if you did not buy the DLC. A portion of the original game that you paid for the license to experience is now locked behind a second paywall, which means Bungie breached a contract with two companies.
-
Exactly. I had my nightfall achievement For prestige but we were still working on raid. Working adults with kids takes is longer to get our raid done. Now it never will.
-
But they didn’t? Again license not own.
-
Do you work for Bungie or something? I am pretty sure they violage Sony and maybe Xbox TOS blocking our achievements from D2 main game.
-
One of the best worded responses I've seen in a very long time.
-
I 100% agree with everything you typed, but we both know the maturity level of the majority of these posters will not comprehend what wrote. They will either A) Respond with something ignorant and disgusting or B) Not respond at all because they flat out don't get it. I'm sorry to respond the way I did, but this is the reality of the Destiny forums.
-
One thing I always wonder about all the people complaining on here is why you’re even on here if you don’t like the game! If you don’t like destiny anymore then get off the destiny forums. Yes I agree this game is lacking in many ways. And sure you’re going to say you’re just here in hopes that it gets better. My advise is to just move on and stop bitching on here. Let the people that know how to give feedback properly do this. Get off the forums and go play a new game.
-
Why do critics still watch bad movies to pan them? Why do I rate bad items 1 star on Amazon amd bad restaurant experiences. So people know what went wrong and why. Duh =)
-
Because they can and what right do you have to tell them differently? The nerve.
-
Because for better or worse we've invested money and time into this game and we continually hope that at some point Bungie actually listens? Don't hate on the hope lol
