What is team shooting and why is it bad for PvP? I understand it discourages lone wolf tact, but why does this negatively affect gameplay for everyone rather than a vocal minority?

 • Team shooting is basically where 2 or more of the team hold hands and shoot anyone who pops there head round the corner. It's basically the new easier version of hardscopping. The team shot was there in D1 but D1 was set up in such a way that allowed a variety of tactics and play styles to be successful. D2 is only about the team shot, that's ok if you liked that type of game play in D1 but anyone who didn't just finds it boring. Don't start calling us the vocal minority because we don't enjoy what they have done to the crucible. There are no figures to support this. Instead of making stuff up tell us your opinion why it's improved. You never know we might find some middle ground that everybody can enjoy.

 • The only reason why people are complaining about teamshooting is because everyone involved gets credit for the kill.

 • I totally disagree with that buddy. In fact I think that's it's only plus about it. I had friends in D1 that struggled to get a 1 KD. Now everything revolves round team shooting and KD has been replaced by efficiency (KA/D) they feel they are doing better and are making more of a contribution. Personally I just don't like that type of game play and feel shackled to teammates if I want to do good.

 • People are still using 3rd party sites to judge players skill when in LFG. The new stat set up is irrelevant. That being said, I particularly don't enjoy the team shot meta either. But I highly doubt Bungie will change it.

What makes it boring? By what standard of excitement and fun are you using? Should lone wolf play be encouraged in team activities? I've thoroughly enjoyed the Crucible in D2. I actually feel as though I'm part of a team. I never had that sense in D1. It was always just about me looking out for myself. I never cared about how the team faired as a whole. I have not enjoyed PvP like this since Halo 3. They just need to implement a Halo 3-esque competitive ranking system. I'm having a blast, much unlike my experience with the Nightfall.
...why does this negatively affect gameplay for everyone rather than a vocal minority?
This is actually challenging you to substantiate why your lot is not a vocal minority. It is not necessary for me to support a claim I never made. You could argue it was implied, though that was not my intention. My intention was to question the claim that the Crucible in D2 is objectively less fun than it was in D1.

 • Team shotting is not the main problem, it's more of a byproduct of all the changes Bungie made to the crucible. In D1 I had multiple ways to rain fast death and destruction on opponents. Because of this there was a variety of engagements to challenge me. I needed to be skilled in more than just my primary game and map placement to thrive. In D2 it concentrates too much on one aspect, primary gun fights, something that isn't hard to master and something I find one dimensional coming straight from the original Destiny. I'll state now I'm judging D2 the same way I've judged any game in the last couple of years. How does it compare to Destiny. In Destiny the engagements were quick but not so quick that a good player couldn't react thanks to shadestep or Twilight. There was a high risk high reward feel that came from fast paced game play. To me this was what was fun about D1. The last man standing could save the day just like proper team work could utterly crush your opponents. D2 is more cat and mouse, this can be fun but not when it's all of the time. Its more like a game of chess rather than the chaos Destiny could seem like. So you didn't feel part of a team in D1. Was that down to the game or the way you played it? Because my experience differs. Yes I'm guilty of doing the lone wolf thing time to time but I would also play the support role and work with teammates. All of that was there in D1 whereas in D2 it's heavily biased towards team work. Now team work isn't a bad thing in a team based shooter but where Destiny offered success in both team tactics and lone wolf style plays, D2 doesn't. In D1 if my teammates weren't very good I could support them (tactically) and still have a chance at winning. In D2 where that support is mandatory that teammate I once supported needs to pull their own weight more and I find myself not wanting to play with teammates that just can't cut it. I know this is a personal flaw of mine but it has negatively impacted the crucible for me. Every game feels like a sweat match were you need to be making call outs throughout instead of sharing a laugh with your friends. I'm not blind to the flaws D1 crucible had but the rest of it, to me at least, was so fun I could turn a blind eye to getting shot through walls and damage not registering properly. Both of which are still ripe in the crucible now if not even worse. Does any of this negatively effect players like you who enjoy the new crucible? No apart from the bit about getting shot through walls and damage not registering. So why should you care? In all honesty I don't expect you too. But Bungie could have gone about this a totally different way. Instead of giving us the 2 playlists they did to pick from; quick play and competitive. Both of which feel the same to me. They could have kept the same old crucible from D1 but offered 2 playlists, one normal like how it used to be and one with active modifiers like no OHK weapons, slower ability cool downs and X2 or X3 health. With this players like me could still get their daily fix of the crucible they loved and players like you had a place to enjoy. The game would appeal to a wider ordinance and ultimately that would lead to bigger profit margins to Bungie, which would lead to more money for new content. As it stands I know me and a few of my friends keep going back to D1 and are looking for other games to replace the PVP.
