I've played Destiny since D1 / week 1. I used to enjoy Crucible. In D1 the maps were a bit larger, the teams were 6v6, and this allowed for many 1v1 opportunities. Sure, you encountered groups at times (usually 3-4) from the opposing side, but due to it being 6v6, you and a bunch of randoms could rally together to turn things around.
In D2, the 4v4 with smaller maps is not an enjoyable experience most times. Teams group up way too often and simply team shoot opponents. How is this fun? How can you win a gun fight? And if not that, with the maps being so small, if you are gun-fighting an opponent and win, their teammate immediately cleans you up because of the small maps / close proximity / and low health.
Bungie, please make some adjustments and fast. Why fix a system that wasn't broken? D1 Crucible was fine. Sure, make minor adjustments, but you did a complete overhaul and broke it in my opinion.
Lastly, I feel like you're forcing us to be 4v4 like competitive COD, but you may be forgetting that COD is 6v6, and only in esports / tournaments is it 4v4.
You had it right the first time.
The fun has been taken out of it.

I don't see why they changed the crucible so radically. I get some people like this but I don't, the old crucible was way more fun to me. Even the weekly milestones seem like a chore to do. Why they didn't just add a 4v4 mode and modifiers to the old system is beyond me. Everybody could have been happy.

Don't kid yourself. D1 takes just as much "skill" as you claim D2 does. Both are easy. D1 is just a different kind of easy. And "fun" is subjective. Some people like the new team-focused experience. It's not "broken" it's just different. No one is forcing you to play PvP. If you don't like it, don't play it.

Edited by Zurreal: 9/26/2017 6:58:54 AMWhile your observations is correct I absolutely don't agree with you. Players working together as a team in TEAM PVP is not a bad thing. That's how it's supposed to be. More often than not in Destiny 1 your random match made "team" ran off in different directions playing clash or even rumble even though the game type was control or salvage, leaving you the only one worrying about the objective. This works a lot better in Destiny 2. Players generally care more about the objective and tend to stick together more.

Idk pretty often when there's a gunfight going on I like to try a little flankaroony and get picks while enemies are focused on my team. You'd be surprised how teamshooting has resulted in people playing with tunnel vision lol.
-
That's how Bungie wants it, EVERYONE is mediocre, NO ONE is different or unique, that's why assists count as kills, you can't be an individual in this game👎🏻
-
Another thing I noticed is even when you're evenly matched, people will not fight you one and one. They'll run to their team instead. I guess it's smart in a way, but it's boring. Killing one person with a full team of 4 doesn't make me feel like I'm a skilled player IMO.

is your opinion on this biased due to lack of skill in this sort of multiplayer? or based off of a very skilled experience
-
Yeah. They want Halo game play but they put no objectives on the map. Hell even the objectives in objective game modes are not the objective. -Almost every game goes to time unless you are rofl stomping the enemy team. -Power weapons mean very little, unlike in D1 where they could make or break the game. -Spawn system is bad and ends up spawning people within a stones throw. -Low recovery slows games to a crawl -Natural spawn camping is easy without even setting up -To easy to team wipe when you go down a player D2's multiplayer is worse than D1's ever was.
-
I suggest you message your opponents at the beginning of the match asking them to play badly so you can have more 1:1 gunfights. Your other alternative is stick with your team.
-
I know it is a 'team game', but team shotting or being team shotted is BORING. I much preferred fun 1 on 1 encounters in D1.
-
I just feel like i cant just jump in and have fun now with every one holding hands if u dont act like a sweaty nerd and team shoot its game over. Overall just not fun. Also on an unrelated note, BUFF HANDCANNONS

Get better

Run with your teammates.

So you're complaining about being team shot in a team game because you can't Leroy Jenkins anymore? Oh well bad players will whine/whinge.
-
Idea get good. Good Day
-
That’s because we had very easy access to 1 hit kill weapons/abilities in D1 and team shots weren’t necessary because you could easily handle a 1v1 or 1v2 situation. Now with a primary based game and increased time to kill, team shooting is more noticeable because there actually time for 2 people to shoot at you.

Both Crucible playlists spell out pretty plainly that they're designed for teamwork. Hell, the argument could be made that D1 was designed for teamwork also (Rumble was the only single player mode) but was designed poorly, with too short TTK. Sorry, but many seem to enjoy Crucible just fine as is. Many of us dealt with a Crucible we didn't care for for 3 years. You can give us a few months at least, or go play something else.
-
What is team shooting and why is it bad for PvP? I understand it discourages lone wolf tact, but why does this negatively affect gameplay for everyone rather than a vocal minority?
-
Crucible in D2 literally forces you to teamshot or die. I say D1 crucible is better but than I get gangbanged by a bunch of people who only know how to teamshot
-
It won't be fixed because Bungie's vision is to make a game that is fully centered around team shooting. Even in PvE... the raid teaches you to work together and team shoot in the pools, gauntlet, and last chamber.
