Special is just a chore to use now
It seems rather unnecessary to play in this loop of dying, special spawns, you pick it up and watch yourself reload just to die and have the loop begin again endlessly. The ammo really should automatically go into your special if you're going to have it spawn so fast. Either that or have it spawn every 90 seconds from 60. That would need testing of course.

I just accepted it and started using sidearms. Sure I could have some great games with shotguns but, you spend too much time waiting overall throughout the game. Trespasser is so much fun to use. Also, use Dregs Promise! That gun is beastly.

2 RepliesYou have a radar. A constant radar. If you pick up special and then die to a other player. You probably should have killed the guy first, then got special. Or take the special, knowing you'll probably die, but then they can't get it.

I know they're trying to force primary engagements but keyword FORCE them and that's a bad thing fun wise but a good thing balance wise. No one is really playing ape style anymore which is boring to me I don't know how people just sit in one lane the entire time with an NLB it's boring obnoxious to play against and bad for the health of the game. They should've just buffed primaries in the last patch instead of taking away our ammo AGAIN. Don't get me started on the health regen perks nerf (it will make the roaming supers easier to take down now that we don't have ammo which again makes the game more boring that you can't smash an entire team with bladedancer) and the truth nerf was completely uncalled for, who was complaining about truth?

That was kind of the point of this latest hotfix. They wanted to force people to rely on primary weapons and open the door for sidearms to become the most useful special weapon. Make no mistakes about it, pretty much every consequence of this patch was intended. That is howa rotating meta works. Knock down the current meta soa new meta can rise. Sidearms only stand out because of their ability to always spawn with ammo. Special ammo for all other weapons needed to be nerfed to let sidearms stand out, and coincidentally, the players' demands thst something be done to force ppl away from special weapons coincides with the changes they made. Bungie only uses the stick (nerfs) to get the desired results though. They never use the carrot (buffs) to try to incentivize certain behavior like reliance on primaryweapons. Doing so would mean increasing average ttk for all primaries in general so they can compete with better with special weapons. They can't do that, this game must have slow ttks and be ultra-balanced so it can become an mlg-E-sport.

i hardly use specials outside of sidearms anymore, it feels so rediculas to spawn without it

Special has alway been a part of Crucible game type and Destiny has almost taken it away from us. Ok i for one love this meta, i always used my primary get my kills, so this does fit my playing style. But the only thing that needed nerfed going into this meta was the range of some shotguns and the warlock melee from another zip code. I would of been happy. But i gotta tell you guys i'm really enjoying this meta. But i get your point. There has been times were i got caught wanting to counter sidearm with my fusion rifle, and had to bit the bullets. So far i have been killing it with the fusion. One on one will out shot the sidearm, my experience so far

4 RepliesIt really makes Mayhem Clash a pain in the ass. What's the point of picking up Special if I'm just going to get Nova Bomb'd or Fist of Havoc'd right after I pick it up? Seems pretty stupid that the change applied to that mode too.

I personally use either Trespasser or Ice Breaker, it's not like i need to have an exotic in the primary or heavy slot anyway... The only exotic heavy worth using was nerfed (and there are excelent legendary replacements with similar perks, since Truth tracking was heavily nerfed) and many legendary primaries are MUCH better than the exotics (currently).
