Question for you primary aficionado: How do you fight a guardian 5m away if you have no special? Stupidly use your ranged primary weapon in this distance? Play Warlock and have a powerful melee? Please share your strategic wisdom!

Use a hand cannon, hit a crit, finish with a melee? Jump in the air in anticipation of the push, melee, then finish with a HC crit? Or any primary really. Don't claim to have mastery over your preferred primary if you can't deal with different situations. So you're using a scout? Play at range. If you're doing it right, you should be avoiding most close range encounters, thus avoiding the situation you presented. Same goes for other weapon types. That's why I prefer HCs personally, I can be very mobile while getting up close and personal. However, if that doesn't work I'll switch to a Pulse or Auto generally. You have to adapt to your situation. Now that specials are "a chore" to use, Primary play can truly begin to shine.

I hear you on that. And I understand your frustration, I'm just saying that if you decide to stick with a certain weapon type you have to be willing to learn to work within the meta. Scouts are still viable, it's just a matter of figuring out how they fit into this meta you know? I hope you can get there. Happy hunting!

I use my primary 95 % of the time on the rare occations where i have to use special i use trespasser .

I've been seeing alot of monte but yeah HCs on CQC maps. I still think no land sidearm and luna/pali ice breaker will be the main usage in 3s after the nerf.

90% of all maps in Destiny are CQC. And just look at Trials this week. On -blam!-ing Sky Watch Handcannons have 55% of all kills. This is how overpowered those things are now. Thanks Bungie for obsoleting all other primaries.

If bungie actually knew how to make diverse maps this wouldn't be an issue.
