Do you guys agree with Derek?
He's PvP lead if you guys didn't know.
I just like how direct he is about this.

Why isn't Trials of Osiris freelancer rumble type? Top 3 players advances. This way no carry and everyone is happy.
-
I've finally formed a steady team so we can practice and fail and try again and we'll eventually make it there
-
Wondering if it's also intended for the average player to not have a good connection? Or is severe rubber banding the way it's "meant to be played"?

That guy bitching about snipers i swear is mentally handicapped

Edited by Shark: 10/24/2016 3:55:13 PMFlawless is the hardest thing in the game unless you win a raffle. However all it gives is snapshot and ornaments. That's it. You can get everything else just from bounties and 7 wins. Flawless really isn't all it's hyped up to be lol And yes I've been flawless multiple times. Not 3 times a week since year one.. but enough to where it doesn't matter that much anymore. (I'm average too)

I agree lol if you're weak and suck you won't make it to the lighthouse so just get better damn what's so hard about that....... Lol

I have a Love/Hate relationship with Trials. I have been flawless many times with my squad. However, it does showcase a lot of Destiny's flaws, in my opinion. Not as bad as in Year 1 with the Thorn/TLW abuse. But it needs work. Where as skilled players don't crutch META scrub weapons in questioning their own ability to win. I love the rush on flawless cards getting that last win. However it is met with a lot of anxiety due to the mass amounts of cheaters in the matchmaking pool. The matchmaking system was much better in Year 1 in my opinion. As it was based on connection and not cards. The competition is nice, but I would rather be in a green bar/no red bar lobby on my 8th game. Trials is great. But it is riddled with cheaters and displays the most imbalance with weapons in Destiny by far.

I said something like this down below, but it's worth mentioning here, too. If most of us aren't even intended to have success in Trials, why are we all paying for it?
-
YES I swear to god I face another team of 2.0, 2.2, and then .4 I'm gonna lose my mind Stop carrying people, it ruins other people's chances who fought hard to get there while simultaneously bringing someone who shot maybe one person there
-
I agree that Trials is an end game PVP event and not for everyone. But seriously -blam!- this guy and the horse he rides on. This attitude promotes elitism and that's the only thing I can't stand about Trials. You're either a PVP Dynamo or a cheating POS to consistently make the Lighthouse. Good for you. Here's a cookie.
-
We are talking about the top five percent of their players. Basically telling 95% of their costumers to get stuffed. Sound business decision..... Sarcasm emote here. Another example of bungie needing to keep their devs mouths shut.
-
If you can't beat 1 or 2 guys carrying one below average player then you should probably be looking to get carried too. Tired of casuals complaining it's too hard, like He said lighthouse ain't for everyone, so if you can't beat basically a 2 man team, it isn't for you.
-
Trials is the single worst thing to ever happen to Destiny. Period. No other single event has created more hate and salt in the community. It's not about rewards. Or skill. It hasn't been since the start of year 2. You can love Trials or hate it, you can pretend it's the perfect god mode game type, or you can say it's total trash. No matter what way you feel, Trials has created a nasty divisive wall within the player base and it is,and forever will be, disgusting because of this.
-
Trials is just for Scrubs. I dont need no weak ass fireteam to wreck noobs in Destiny. Bungie themselves cant even face me, mopheads.
-
I guess that's just how it is, I was surprised to hear how many players never finished a raid.
-
Any Single Moms in here?
-
I agree with him. Not all players deserve to have everything simply for logging on. I think there should be more ultra exclusive weapons/armor than there is. I think trials flawless should drop exclusive exotic gear. I just wish PvE didn't have to suffer through all the nerfs to satisfy the PvP balance.

I'd say I'm an average/slightly above average player I've made it to the light house a few times and no I was not carried. You just need everything to come together nicely cause it takes some luck. 3 averages players that communicate well can beat just about anyone. They just have to stick together, not to close though cause you don't want to get triple killed by a super. Make sure you're team shotting when you can. Revives are crucial, any time you can get a revive go for it over killing an enemy. If you finish with a .3 kd with 4 revives and your team wins that's perfect. It's also about luck, if you run into a God team and lose that's what your boons are for, just hope you only run into one team like that though lol i seem to run into them all the time.
-
I agree with this statement 100% and it should stay this way. The game mode was designed so only the best teams make it. This does not mean average teams cannot make it is they play well and match up against the right opposition. The only thing I hate with trials is the amount account recoveries that go on. Paying for someone to play for you and get you flawless defeats the whole purpose of going flawless. I have no issues with streamers that do double or single caries as they are having that person participate and put in an effort to get to the light house.

They need to direct more of their focus towards pve content and story. This game would be much better and this community would be less cancerous if they did.

What I want to know is, has Derek ever made it to the lighthouse?
-
Very direct... but what about the stats? For all these people crying or singing his praises, would it be nice to actually see the numbers for lighthouse trips? I would like to see: 1. Number of people who went to the lighthouse in a weekend. 2. Elo of players as well as k/d. 3. Fireteam members and if the lighthouse win was a 9 win for all members or just 1 or 2(would be a carry if not) 4. Number of players that attempted trials. 5. How many fireteams made it to 5 and 7 wins. Bungie is all about the numbers when they want to be. Break it down for us Derek!

Sort of but like a lot of people have echoed the matches should be skilled based match making. It doesn't make sense to get wreaked the 1st couple of matches, win 3-4 then get blasted again. You get better by playing people better than you but at a certain level you learn absolutely nothing. I've been in games that were over so quickly you couldn't analyze their strategy if you wanted to. Now that being said I approach trials like this. Two guys from the clan want to finish a card so I play a couple of cards to get the rewards and never intend to do well. I don't care enough to get better so that's on me. But when I hear about how playing elite teams off the hopper is somehow good for me I call bs. It's frustrating and that's it. Now if I'm at 6 wins and get destroyed I can say I made a good run of it and of course better teams will be there but it's shouldn't be a crap shoot on the 1st match.
-
Never been to the lighthouse, and probably never will. I don't mind at all. People act like they constructed this huge social space and we are missing out. "I paid for it!!!!!!!" Congrats to those that have been there!

Yes in a way
