Stricter gun laws mean that it is [i]more difficult[/i] for criminals to get weapons. Nobody is saying that it would stop them. I say this a lot when it comes to guns, and I'll say it again: Just look at Canada. We have tonnes of people who own at least one gun, yet I'm not worried about anyone pulling out a gun when I'm walking around town. That's because our guns are for hunting, and must be kept in a locked case/locker when not hunting. Are there gun related crimes in Canada? Absolutely. But far less than the US.
