Iron Banner Rift Is Amazing!
I can honestly say that after 2 and a half hours total so far of IB, Rift is an amazing playlist for it. My brother an I both agree; it gets our hearts pumping like when we are clutching in Trials. Dunno if it's related, but my sniping skills have also greatly improved.
I was a little sceptical at first when I read that Rift was gonna be the IB playlist this month. But now? I think it would be a great place to keep it at for a while.
What do you guys think?
Edit: Wow, this new matchmaking sucks ass. Officially hate Rift as the playlist now.
Edit: My loadout was the problem, not the Matchmaking...Apparently flipping my loadout to it's polar opposite (LW/Sp to RD/CT-D) helped me out immensely.

Why rift is a bad idea: I played a match on my Titan. 10 kills, 9 deaths. Only went for the spark. Carried 6 times scored 5. Finished with over 13000 points. Iron banner is supposed to be combat focused not who can score more.

I think people got too comfortable in their control camping style and rift was unfun for them. The point is to challenge yourself to new games and it did that for me.

1 ReplyThe game style is awesome but even after the Wednesday reboot of the matchmaking lag is still worse than ever last night was unplayable for me. Wait time between games is way way up. And teams seemed to be more lopsided than ever. It went merci almost every game last night wether it was for me or against me.

2 RepliesI played solo every day rotating characters to complete the bounties. I am having a blast. I've been dropped in mid match, been up against full fireteams, had some laggy matches, won and lost by Mercy Rule....still awesome. Control can be played and won without playing the objective. It really isn't any different than Clash. Rift makes you play the objective and support your team. Campy? So what, Control and Clash are the same. In Rift I am probably the camper. I will hold a hallway or corner so my runner has a clear path. And this is the first time I've used a shotgun in IB in a long time. I forgot how much fun they could be...chasing down a runner and blasting him/her in the back of the head for 300+ points.

Honestly rift is quicker in terms of game time as in rift its a lot easier to rack up scores and end matches quicker, which is something I sometimes look for

I like that it changes. Rift, control, clash, the variety is nice and forces me to change my play style. Keep em comin' Bungie and thank you!

It was fun in a team vs team, but solo it was so sweaty my balls no longer stuck to my thighs.

I respect your opinion (before the edit) but I disagree. Rift is a terrible IB match type. Toss in the laggers (guy was doing that drift into the wall shit and used storm caller to wipe 4 of us out) and you have a sh*t fest. IMO, this is the worst IB to date. I've never been more frustrated with this game. Pvp is broken

Been joining games for hours and its always either halfway through a match with the team im thrown on - 10k pts or half the team is missing or ll 250, im literally over this game now. Like i talked so much good stuff about it and now i see why everyones quitting. Just so much unbalanced broken nonsense that isnt worth my time anymore

I've enjoyed rift a lot as the iron banner so far. I'm almost rank 4 I believe and have gotten a lot of drops. I've played with a full fireteam so my experience will be different than others who play solo. I believe Iron Banner should constantly switch the game modes. 1 month should be control, next clash, next rift, etc, and possibly even the 3v3 playlists besides Elimination. This will keep Iron Banner refreshing imo.

Could they please just set it back to control for those of us who like to battle up close and not have to carry a sniper out of self defense. Here is a better ideal make it Mayhem Clash that is some fun ass gameplay.
