Proto-hive as a race probably weren't evil. But Aurash, Xi Ro, and Sathona were irredeemably evil for entering into the agreement with the worms

Obviously they weren't evil As for Aurash and her sisters, well they weren't evil, but what they did was based on them being blinded by hate, revenge, thirst for power, etc.. Not to forget that one of them got slowly influenced by a god worm Also they were only kids when their father died and that the Helium Drinkers took over.
