Constant Error Codes and Disconnects

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but considering I can't contact anyone at Bungie directly, this is all I can do. I bought Destiny on PS3 on Saturday. For the few days leading up to HoW I played plenty of hours (20+ hours) and didn't have a single problem. No disconnects, no error codes, nothing. However, the second HoW was live, I have gotten an error code nearly every 5 minutes I've tried to play for the last few days. Sometimes, I can't even make it to the mission itself because of these constant errors. I have tried everything under the sun save for changing ISPs from Port forwarding to changing DNS, etc. Nothing has made even the slightest difference. And since no other game has had a single issues on my PS3, and I've never had an issues like this with my internet, and not to mention that this has happened in the past when I first played it during launch week, it seems very safe to assume that Destiny is the problem. Had I known this was going to be the case, I would not have wasted my money on such a disgustingly broken game. And considering I am absolutely not the first or last person this happens to, it seems pretty obvious that Bungie doesn't care to fix this for the tremendous amount of people who have the same issue. If there is a way that is tried and true to fix this problem, I would be more than happy to try but all I want know is my money back for the game I can't even play. For those wondering, my ISP is Comcast, I have a Technicolor TC8305C router, obviously on a Playstation 3 over a wireless connection. I get a constant 15Mbps down/4Mbps up, being way less than I get on any other device, and this is the only game/device that I have ever had this sort of problem with in the two years I have had this same internet service.

  • Hi Marsh -- Sorry to hear about the troubles. This gateway device (TC8505C) is notorious for giving consoles trouble, mainly via packet loss. I would suggest checking out the following post for troubleshooting steps. Disregard the fact it's on Xbox.com. The troubleshooting steps will apply to your PS3 as well. http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/networking-hardware/01-modems-gateways/technicolor/f/4046/t/1444840.aspx It's important to note, I have personally had to exchange this network device with Comcast, as I was unable to resolve similar issues. If worst comes to worst, I would suggest reaching out to them for a different model.
