Hi Marsh -- Sorry to hear about the troubles. This gateway device (TC8505C) is notorious for giving consoles trouble, mainly via packet loss. I would suggest checking out the following post for troubleshooting steps. Disregard the fact it's on Xbox.com. The troubleshooting steps will apply to your PS3 as well. http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/networking-hardware/01-modems-gateways/technicolor/f/4046/t/1444840.aspx
It's important to note, I have personally had to exchange this network device with Comcast, as I was unable to resolve similar issues. If worst comes to worst, I would suggest reaching out to them for a different model.

Here they go again Same old shit again Blaming everyone's Internet Can't fix their mistakes
-
I've been trying to log on for a half hour now and I've tried everything. Destiny's servers are just shit. Everything else works on my wifi but your damn game doesn't.
-
Thanks for the quick reply BNG, unfortunately it would seem that worst has come to worst since no other fix on the internet seems to do any good. I'll be changing that out as soon as possible and hopefully that will solve the problem. Are there any other routers that I should avoid from them or any suggestion on models to get from them?
-
If they have anything other than Technicolor, that would be preferred. Other than that, most devices work fine.
-
I will keep that in mind. Another question I had was I disconnect very frequently from any world, if I even get that far, but I have had no issues playing multiplayer. Is that normal to the problems that I've been having?
-
Edited by BNGHelp0: 5/22/2015 4:10:26 PMI'm not sure if that's normal, but it could very well be related to the other issues.
-
Also, I'm curious. If Bungie knows that the Technicolor routers cause issues with their game, and that this has been a problem pretty much since launch, why have they never done anything to rectify it? I don't know how they would do it, but it seems like it effects enough people to warrant them doing something about it; o,r at the very least, telling people to stay away from specific routers that are known not to work well with Destiny, even to a point where it makes Destiny unplayable.
-
Bungie are talking bullshit m8 dont waste your money buying a new router its the game and their servers that are -blam!-ed, everyone has problems with this game for random reasons they just dont care and blame evryones internet all time!
-
I don't know, I'm sure that they are right, because you see people playing on Twitch never having a problem. Though you're also right, I think it's just that they don't care enough to fix the obvious problems with these routers.
-
If. You happen to read this. Does Bungie have a list of know devices that give your game a headache?
-
We don't have a list per-say. The biggest problem device has been the aforementioned TC8505C.
-
Okay. I just see so many guardians with connection issues, that I was hoping we would have another solution. I know I have gotten them a few times, yet u run a 100/100 to my provider. Well back to the drawing board.
-
I have NEVER had connection issues until HoW launch and I have played since beta. Im guessing now everyone who has an issue will by Bungie's books have headache causing hardware...

I tried to get on Destiny this morning and and kept getting kicked to orbit every 2 mins getting error codes weasel, baboon and groundhog. Also saying contacting Destiny servers all the time. I turned it off tried again 10 mins ago but still getting the same lack of connection and errors. Even as I'm writing this I have just been given error weasel and kicked to main title screen. Anybody know what's going on? I'm in Halifax UK.
-
The games broke m8 buy a diff game
-
I'm Brisbane, Australia and having the same problem as you minus the groundhog code. I managed to complete a mission last night with it only disconnecting me 3 times, however since then got Marionberry every time I got to the title screen so went to bed. Getting really sick of this shit.
-
Ridiculous isn't it. And they think it's our internet connection or settings or router etc. Too many people saying the same thing for it to be a problem at our end - something must be wrong at bungie side.
-
They will never ever admit a fault on their end. Instead they will say it's our internet. Forcing us to do whatever we can to find the problem. When really there isn't a problem
-
They cant admit its their fault because they would be liable to providing a inadecuate service
-
Well I am with the major ISP in Australia who owns the entire network and its infrastructure. All other providers use their network or have an inferior network in place. There is NO OTHER provider that offers the same speed or stability here in Australia. We are on the highest corporate plan available (my brother in law works for the company as a tech so he gives us the best stuff), and we have contacted both the ISP and even had him come and check out Internet, our router and even check out the exchange for this area. EVERYTHING checks out on their end. I can play any number of my other xbox one games and PC games which are more resource demanding than Destiny with no issues. It's simple process of elimination. If the only thing that causes the problem is destiny, then obviously it's destiny that is triggering it all off. I am tempted to drag my xbone to my workplace today and connect it to its internet which is the fastest and most reliable in the ENTIRE COUNTRY. If it still doesn't work there then Bungie has nothing they can say to defend themselves.
