This is in direct contrast to the thread "What would it take to make you a Christian". It's an honest question, not a troll. I am actually quite curious to see the response to this, as I am a Christian myself.
Also, this question is primarily directed at Christians, but any other theists are welcome to answer.
As for what would make me an atheist, it would have to be overwhelming proof to the contrary of a deity.
I will never give up on Christ and all he has done for us
-
Nothing.I love God and thank him for what he's done for me.never give up eternity.
-
Nothing. There's no shaking of faith, no matter the evidence.

Neither do I follow any religion/ belief nor I hate/ bash any; however, one thing I hate seeing is people following set number of rules translated from different languages over the centuries far stretched from what they actually meant in the original script. In my opinion, the holy books are not what they were in their original form. People interpreted wrong /tempered with it intentionally or unknowingly. The very fundamental question is if we are bind by a set number of rules conveyed through holy books out ability to look something extraordinary becomes non existent. I would recommend watching a debate between ken ham and bill nye. One thing I noticed about ken ham was that he was so blinded by his beliefs that he was willing to ignore all the evidence that supports our existence past 6000 years or so. So I think In the end, it doesn't matter what you believe in but do not stop looking for evidence and there's always more to what we know. Gaining knowledge will only make you stronger. Edit: typos/ grammar

For Jesus himself to come down for Heaven and tell me He isn't real.

I don't believe atheists one single bit. But we are all different and choose what we believe in. I used to be an atheist myself but until I learned something nothing would change my views. Since I believe we are all one, connected through a strand of consciousness that is connected to the universe, that is what makes us conscious beings. This universe is the major consciousness of everything, so in retrospect we are all one. As for god I believe that we are all god because in my views I do not see god as a religious figure or a non religious. God is the universe, it's the consciousness that is what I call 'him' That is why we are capable of magnificent things like telepathy, Astral Projection, Lucid Dreaming it goes on. But to answer OP you'd have prove and I mean PROVE to me that I am wrong.

I'm not an atheist. I just believe in Scientology.

Nothing, because of this logical argument: 1. Believe in God/God is fake: nothing happens 2. Believe in God/God is real: paradise 3. Don't Believe in God/God is fake: nothing happens 4. Don't Believe in God/God is real: damnation You lose nothing for believing in the God of the Bible (or arguably any religion), but you risk everything to be an atheist.

Nothing. I would never.

I honestly don't know. My faith in God has come to be the only reason I stand here today. It's who, despite my many faults, I have come to be. I honestly can't think of anything short of constant physical and psychological torture that would damage or shake my faith in God.
As for what would make me an atheist, it would have to be overwhelming proof to the contrary of a deity.
Your throat. You breathe and consume food through the same part of your body. If there is a deity out there, they're not particularly smart.

I was an atheist (for the vast majority of my life). From where I've been, and what I know now, the only thing that would make me atheist is if the resurrection of Christ was disproved.
-
We as a race don't know yet. There are parts of the bible that have been disproven so fair enough but the big question we don't know the answer to

Legitimate evidence and proof, taking me back in time to see if there was actually a big bang.

Edited by DogChamp: 11/16/2014 2:34:17 PMA detailed explanation on how and why the universe formed and how time start and why anything exists. Do not simply say because of the Big Bang, how did the matter form into a tight ball and expand and when did time begin. How did life form exactly, how did we gain consciousness? Answer me those question without anything relating to god, ten i might consider being athiest, but you probably cannot answer these question. Edit: Some of you seem to not like it when people are religious. In the US you are supposed to respect people's beliefs.
