For Raid MM

1397

Against Raid MM

Hopefully Bungie will watch this and please, think carefully before choosing. Sorry about a "Whatever Bungie Chooses" answer being absent. Just a simple poll for a hot subject right now.

6 man raids are no different than 5-6 man heroic dungeons in WoW and/or GW2. Totally doable with MM. Hardest thing they could throw at you are puzzles requiring 6 people to stand in specific locations to avoid a wipe or unlock a door. Adding random people to your friends list just to participate in a small aspect of one game is no different than using MM (just more of a hassle). People that are against MM don't plan to use it anyhow so why are they against it? Makes no sense to me. The way you have fun is totally different from the next person. I say let everyone enjoy the game the way they want. Raid MM doesn't equal to nerfed challenge.

    • Out of all these seemingly 100s of threads on the same issue, I haven't seen anyone say this. What about when other raids, meaning more than we get at launch are added? Obviously players will want to continue with their guardian progression and play the highest level content available. But, let's say a given player gets their main maxed out and it's now time to level and gear an alt, people aren't going to want to have to play the lower tier raids with a clan members alternate character most of the time. After a while and after new raids are added the first raids will become mundane tasks to players who out level the content. I personally have no problem finding people to play with, I would just like to see matchmaking in the future, after months of doing the same raid we will all know it like the back of our hands and to be able to queue for a raid by ourselves with others who know it just as well seems like the only logical thing to do. If this has already been mentioned I apologize, I didn't read all comments in all threads.

      • Even the guys that are against and think are really hardcore and whatnot so its not a problem to them, should really, really, think it over. Bungie mentioned some raids can last three hours. How many of your friends do you think will want to keep repeating that just because you didn't do the raid yet ? Will you be available to do a raid you already did again and again just so some other guy hasn't but he needs players ? maybe you prefer to spend your time in the crucible doing clan matches ? fk him right ? same will happen to you and it will only get worse for the guys the buy the game latter. "Hey who wants to team up with me ?".... sorry brah, we all did that already, cya. Seriously, think this one over.

Too few options - random MM = bad, better in-game communications tools to facilitate PUG = good. And yes, I don't buy the argument that a raid team has to have SpecFor level coordination to beat a raid. As most people are so gleefully noting, Destiny is a FPS, 99.99% of FPS challenges can be solved by patience and lots of ammo.

Since some of you still don't seem to get it. Look back at Halo You know how many Lone Wolves / Solo Players... Missed out on Custom games? ALOT!! Same concept here. WTF DO YOU PEOPLE HAVE AGAINST LONE WOLVES? Why the -blam!- do you all want to force this Facebook culture on us? Where we have to "Socialize" with randoms just to play with them.' In both cases. Halo limiting custom games to a friends only list Destiny limiting Raids to a Friends only list. WTF is the problem with you people allowing randoms to play with each other in these game modes?

Me: Hey, I'm looking for a raiding group. You: Wrong Class, Not enough Rank, wrong Equipment, Team is already Full, You suck, I don't know you, Not in the mood, etc. That is what raids will turn into. 90% of your players Bungie. Will not be participating in Raids. Congrats on treating a portion of your customers as 2nd class citizens. NOW GO -blam!- YOURSELVES! And for what? Why are you so hell bent on being stupid? No really, this is the same exact Bullshit you pulled when you limited custom Games to a friends only list on Halo... And I ask, what was the -blam!-ing point of that? So that a couple of dumb-blam!-s could feel safe in the knowledge that only they get to play Custom gametypes without the interference of someone they don't know? Even though if you were a developer worth your weight, you'd realize that it's possible to program such a thing that caters to both sides. What is with this BS path you keep taking where you treat Lone Wolves like shit? WHAT THE -blam!- DID WE EVER DO TO YOU!?!? Besides play the game without a mic plugged in. And with the way I am, I don't need a mic plugged in to outclass any of you in a FPS, even when its a team oriented FPS. But apparently, because I don't communicate that I'm shooting at someone or dying... I'm not special enough to partake in that content. -blam!- OFF!

            • Why is this still a question, it takes 5 minutes to find a team on lfg or forums. Shouldn't be an issue.

            • The main argument against raid matchmaking is "there could be some lvl 28 scrub who has no clue what he is doing that will weigh down the team" That very well could and would deffinitely happen However, it would be so much easier to just invite the other 4 guys to a party and pick up a 6th guy afterwards than scrounging around on a forum cite with 20 different threads all for the same thing that you hafta type in some gay-ass guy's name with 70 X's and capital i's that look like lower case L's, and then have them not even look at your damn message cuz 50 other mofos already beat u to it

            • Matchmaking but not like what we have now. It needs reasonable booting options bare minimum so the team can vote to kick those people who will just sit there or refusing to communicate.

            • is it really that hard to make friends on destiny? i've made enough friends on this game to always have a raid team on Tuesdays and there is usually enough of them on for later in the week if i need it on another account. i really don't see any reason for a raid MM... plus everyone will just complain about people not having the right stuff and it would just get out of hand. if you really struggle to find a raid team then you can go on LFG, go onto the forums, or if you are really desperate you can go into a twitch chat of someone one who is streaming destiny and try and find someone that way (one of my friends actually found a raid team that way when we first attempted to do atheon when VOG came out. think my friend said it was some streamers called "streamer house" or whatever) my point is that it really isn't that hard to find a raid team and a MM would just ruin things. and who would honestly even use it knowing they would most likely get into a team that won't be able to coordinate correctly?

            • Don't really care either way. I voted no, only because I think the game would be better served if the devs were working on actual content. If it would be easy to implement, then whatever, I wouldn't care. But, I would never use it. Matchmaking on raids would be a disaster. Even worse than matchmaking for strikes, which is pretty bad.

            • Absolutely not. The crap players you will get stuck with will just eat up time with no progression and be super frustrating. Post in the boards so at least we know a bit about the potential team before we start.

              • Im actually against it. I love doing random strikes, but, and I say this coming from an old WoW raiding guild, you want to know your raid team. If you are serious about it, find a competent team through strikes if you have to. Just get comfortable playing with them, learn your teams play style and how to be a team. Randoms = hella fail in my opinion.

              • It should be an option. Plain and simple. If you have a team of friends to do this with, more power to you. For those of us who do not have such readily available friends, we are effectively locked out of the raid content. This can only be a bad move for the longevity of the game's player retention. People have varied play times, and play styles. You can call it catering to casuals if you like, but I like to think of it as inclusion. Bungie should WANT as many players as possible experiencing their content. Don't make the mistake of many MMORPG's, and lock out the raid content to a tiny percentage of the playerbase - especially for those of us who are really not interested in the PVP end game.

                • Anyone who wants raid matchmaking has either never done a raid or has a really bad ability to see what effect present actions have on the future.

                • How many issues do we have now with randoms in strikes going AFK and then showing up at the end for rewards? No thank you. By now most people should have a fairly consistent group to run raids or nightfalls with.
