Personally I believe the game (Destiny) was meant to be enjoyed on the PlayStation 4, with its amazing graphics and superior quality, but that's just me. I have both next-gen consoles and I've noticed that the XBOX ONE makes a loud nice during boot up, probably because it has to work harder to render, not to mention the larger fan.
TL;DR
PS4 has better graphics, capped at 60 fps
Obvious choice for Bungie. Only machine capable of rendering such an amazing game
Edit 1: Thanks for the response guys. Obvious conclusion is that this game was meant to run on the SUPERIOR console: PS4- XBOX truly is weaker
Edit 2: XBONERS getting really mad. Hey, the stats don't lie!
Edit 3: From what I've been hearing, the situation goes like this:
XBOX ONE: 720p capped at 30 fps
PS4: 1080p native at 60 fps
PS3: 640p upscale to 720 30 fps
XBOX 360: 480 upscale to 720 30 fps
PS4 seems like the way to go so far until proven otherwise
Edit 4: receiving massive backlash from the community. What they don't understand is that Bungie purposefully said that it's at 30 fps across all platforms so the XBOX players would not be offended. The game was designed and built to take advantage of PS4 hardware, therefore it is capable of running at 60 fps solely on the aforementioned console.
Edit 5: Very heated debate I see. Questions coming from both sides. The thing is that Bungie did not want for one side to be left in the dust, so they just told everyone that it would be capped at 30 fps when it actually wasn't. 60 FPS PS4 confirmed. Check when booting up next time. You'll notice a small ticker
Edit 6: PS4 specs that suggest it can run, and does, Destiny at 60 FPS 1080p Native
CPU
Number of Cores/Threads: 8/8
Frequency: speculated to be running a base clock speed of 1.6 Ghz on a 2.75 Ghz capable chip
Shared L2 Cache: 2 x 2 MB
Manufacturing Process: 28 nm
Custom CPU for background processing such as downloading and recording gameplay.
GPU: AMD next-generation Radeon based graphics engine
Edit 7: this debate is getting very intense. Some players have even decided to bash the PlayStation community. I don't see why they would do that because this is ABOUT GRAPHICS COMPARISON and not some place for your complaints.
Edit 8: I've been receiving some very hateful messages, and yeah I get your frustration. The backlash has been tremendous but I've tried my best to clarify the situation; User xx_n1gg4bLazE_xx made it very clear to me that the community is unwilling to listen.
The point is; BUY BOTH CONSOLES-SEE FOR YOURSELF
Edit 9: finally some users have reported the difference between the two. Unfortunately YouTubers trying to upload video with a comparison, are limited to a 30fps cap, rendering the defense useless.
Edit 10: (UPDATE)- Thought this thread had died, but the community is still up for a healthy discussion. Receiving backlash from the community, don't know why, as for the 60fps cap on YouTube yes it has been raised, video however, will be difficult to see as it won't be the same as seeing it directly from the console itself. Graphics wise the two consoles are I guess on-par, with the limitation that PS4 renders Destiny at 60fps.

The game is a ported game... Halo 4 looks better than this game on ANY console... but I love it anyway!

Edited by FuzzyWhiteLion: 9/30/2014 10:16:51 PMI'm an XBOX owner, and the PS4 looks like a clear winner in graphics in the Beta. With the full release, I still think the PS4 looks sharper. I really don't care though, because gameplay is what determines the longevity of a game and not eye candy and graphics. Fortunately, the gameplay and content is consistent across platforms - I don't count exclusive content in this because the availability is based on the content being a timed "exclusive" rather than an issue with the platform.

Hmmm...Looks like ps4 meets or beats xbone on all games resolution wise. However, in reference to the OPs argument, he appears to have inaccurate data. http://m.ign.com/wikis/xbox-one/PS4_vs._Xbox_One_Native_Resolutions_and_Framerates

CONSOLE WAAAAAR!!!!

I am playing on ps3 and the graphics just are not that great. They arn't bad, but not great.

Dude my 360 runs Destiny at 120 fps on 8k after I modded it

This has to be the most exhausted argument for a ridiculous flame war I've ever seen. Well done, OP. You're the dumbest person I've come across on the Internet this week - and that is saying something.

Edited by Cyriacus: 9/30/2014 7:12:36 PMSeriously can't tell much of a difference.

I too have both. The Xbox one is louder but graphics wise I think that there isn't much of a noticeable difference. On thing I did notice is that the Xbox One had shorter loading times but then again that can come down to connection( but I do play on both with the same connection sooooo) They are both great buuuuut. I do slightly prefer the Xbox one because of snapping and stuff like that. (This is coming from a guy who had a PS3 and NOT an Xbox 360) But that's just me, I just think that the Xbox feels smoother but it is a tad louder starting up even tho they are about the same while playing.

Edited by Kurupter: 9/30/2014 7:40:45 PMDreamcast 2 has 4K resolution with 120 FPS. It's so bad ass that Chuck Norris is awed by its superior resolution, keep dreaming my friends.

Why in the hell does it matter if you can still play the game on all consoles? Some people are just so touchy about these things.

This looks like the perfect place for a NINTENDO FANBOY! GOOOO WIIU!! BOOOO ALL OTHER CONSOLES!! But in all seriousness the Nintendo community is on average older than the Xbox community and they have more exclusive IPs than Sony. Sure it took them a decade to get past 480p and they beat the dead horse of motion controls long after it stopped pooping money, but at least they're more concerned with making a Gaming Console than a Crappier PC. I own all the consoles and play them all roughly equally, but I'll probably always be a Nintendo fanboy at heart. Rage on, you graphics-crazy nutters. Rage on.

PS4 FTW

Better games>better graphics. Think im gonna stay with the xbox.
-
So Xbox 360 was weaker than PS3 but was the better system in terms of sales and games.. Tell me more about how your console is so superior?

Edited by SkillShare: 9/30/2014 7:17:25 PMhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxOpOssJsHM Looks to me like theyre the same between ps4 and Xbox one
-
Don't try to argue this, but Bungie confirmed that their game has better visuals on the PS4 than the Xbox One.
-
I am currently playing destiny on the Nintendo 3DS and I must say it looks absolutely stunning. On a side note I'm looking for 5 more for VoG. DS players only please. Add me. GT. #DSISBESTERTHANPS+XB1#

They never said they made the game at 30fps because of the Xbox One. If anything it is due to being on last gen consoles plus performance issues (they still have to learn how to get the most out of both systems and how to get around their limits). Xbox One does support 1080p. I also own both consoles and the game looks just as good on both. The only reason PS4 is the "ultimate" experience is because of a contract between Sony/Activision/Bungie as they will get timed exclusive content and nothing more. Just like Xbox is the "ultimate" experience for Call of Duty because it gets the dlc first.
-
There is no reason for PS4 to not be superior, unless devs decide to gimp/neglect the platform.

Edited by EtherMagz: 9/30/2014 6:56:12 PMWhy are you trying to start a war?

it's obvious the newer consoles have the superior graphics but it really doesn't come down to that, it comes down to reliability and the xbox one takes that spot
