SO MUCH FOR TOLERANCE
OK, I'm assuming many of you have seen these two posts: the person who wants to play Destiny with others within the LGBT/Furry community, and the person who wants to play with Christians. Now let me say first this is not going to devolve into a theological or argument about morals. When the guy(or girl) who made his post about playing with other Christians, his thread was torn apart. He, his beliefs, and anyone who sided with him were discriminated and made fun of. He was told countless times that he was wrong and stupid for believing what he did.
Now today there was another post made by a guy(or girl) wishing to play with with those in the LGBT and "furry" communities. This thread, thankfully, was met with nothing but kind words and willingness to play, even by those who were not LGBT.
Why is there a difference between the responses to the Christian post and the LGBT/furry post? Neither was condemning those who didn't think like them, simply asking to play with like-minded people of similar backgrounds, yet one was discriminated and made fun of. Why is this OK? We supposedly live in this generation of tolerance, where everyone's beliefs and lifestyles are to be accepted, so why the intolerance? Everybody should remember the Golden rule, treat others the way you want to be treated.
Ok guys, it's getting a little out of hand. This is not a topic about religion, it is about respecting each other. Remember, just be nice to people. It doesn't cost anything. You're not required to agree with them, but do not belittle or discriminate against them for thinking differently than you do.

i think you have a very good point and everybody on here has a right to there beliefs and if they choose to play with other people who share there beliefs so be it.

I just find it funny that the Intolerance seems to go both ways. In this case the Christian was getting made fun of by others. I'm just sick of hearing it. Do what you want to do, pray to who you want to pray to. As long as what you do it (no pun intended) the privacy of your bedroom (either praying or other unmentionables we can't mention on this forum) doesn't hurt me or my family...have fun and have at it.

No. It's weird for everybody on the outside and I'm sure there are gays out there who also find it weird. Religion.....meh. I've literally never heard people talking about religion when they play games. Excluding those based on differences in religious beliefs is [u][u]retarded. [/u][/u] It's one thing wanting to play with bronies, or maybe sports fans, idk. But shit that doesn't matter when you play games with someone is wrong.

14 RepliesThe truth: Because society is teaching generations of kids that being a pervert is ok - that sin is ok - that there is no God and you can do whatever you want - EXCEPT believe in God and have morals and values. Those things are bad, according to our schools, our government and our media. The concept of "tolerance" is a liberal construct and in almost every situation only goes one way - you either believe as they do ( liberals ) or else. They who are always screaming their heads off about tolerance are most often the very same people who have none when it comes to anyone disagreeing with their twisted beliefs, or lack thereof. Truth hurts maybe, but there it is. Oh and the values of Christianity make the unbeliever feel like crap about their own lives - mostly because they don't have a clue about what Christianity is really all about, b/c they've been lied to by a society that only values selfishness and sin.

I really don't know why I even clicked on this, as someone who hates politics and is not so keen on religions, especially the major ones. It's just a forum for people to spout their one-track, biased opinions about another group of people. It really makes me worried to know that these people are everywhere and are such slaves to their thoughts that they can't seem to think outside of their tiny box.

Those of you defending Christianity and those against it, really need to stop telling people they are wrong for living a certain way and believing or not. Doing so goes against everything thing Jesus tried to pass onto us. I'm not Christian and I don't attend church but...even I know that [b][u]everyone[/u][/b] should turn the other cheek! Alot of people are too busy caught up in others views on their beliefs. When it should not matter who says what as long as you have your Faith in whatever you choose to believe. For it is my strong opinion that regardless of beliefs we should [b][i][u]all[/u][/i][/b] be treating each other with simple kindness and respect! So please can we stop with these posts both for and against all religions and sexual preferences. Im sure that Christianity gamer and the furry lover are still gonna have their beliefs and no amount of "hey stop persecuting this guy" or "hey fugg that guy for having different belief" is gonna change the world as whole. So all in all let's please keep these forums about Destiny and how much you enjoy it. And remember being the bigger person says alot more about you than winning an argument on the interwebs or irl.

I'm a Christian, and it's kind of expected to be "persecuted" in this environment. I don't care about the gays and lesbians, or stuff, but I'm really glad I didn't see the mentioned threads. I loathe, seriously loathe, the "Christians" that feel the need to condemn others who don't believe the same. I live by this question: "If I worship a God who is supposed to be all about love, why would someone believe in Him if I show hatred to others?" Im not perfect, but please, don't lump all Christians together. I'm no better than anyone else, but we're not all hostile "holier than thou" elitist jerks. Please forgive them if they made you mad, don't be turned away from any religion you choose because of some rotten hearts.

I don't get why the Christian got crap when the LGBT person didnt. I can understand why a Christian would look for like-minded, it's a logical choice because it eliminates certain topics and foul language. LGBT is not a mind-state or way of thinking so there's no such thing as like-minded. It's basically just down to accepting one thing, a thing that everyone in theory should accept, on behalf of it not affecting third person.

Religion gets so much flung it's way. I believe in God because I like to think death is not the end, guess I am a positive thinker. If anyone has a problem with that then that's fine but I find atheists push their views more than religious people.

Jesus himself stated that those days in the end would be like the days of Noah. If you do not know how the days of Noah were let me summarize: In those days people were homosexual commiting fornication left and right with all peoples, animals, and demons. They were drunks and drug addicts. They were all wicked in the heart and they loved the occult. They were murdering between family and random people to no end. Worshipping of false gods and idols. And also take into account Sodom and Gomorrah. There is a attack on Christianity and there always has been but now even more so because we are at those times Jesus spoke of, that Daniel spoke of and countless more. This is unavoidable because people just do not love God anymore and want nothing to do with him and give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons. It is okay though, although morally wrong there is always a silver lining for Gods people just like for Jews throughout history. God will intervene and Jesus our Messiah is coming home soon. As Jesus said thousand of years ago, As he was hated, so shall we be for his namesake and I hold it proudly. All Glory to God.

Agreed. Tolerance is a two-way street. It needs to go every way and between all peoples, regardless of race, creed, religion, gender, sexual-orientation, social-economic status, or any other category. More often of late, we see in today's popular culture an almost mob-mentality-driven fervor toward bashing religious types, and yet be more accepting of liberal ideals, like LGBT-equality, etc. But many don't understand or simply forget that today's liberal ideals include equality for ALL people, not just equality for the hip, liberal-sounding groups. We can all make a conscious decision to keep name-calling, mud-slinging, and general discrimination out of our speech and out of our actions, and by doing so we can all end a little bit of suffering for everyone. And ending suffering is really what it should be all about.

I would just report those guys who 'enforce' their political views onto people. This is a game, this is a website for a game. NOT A NEWS MEDIA SITE! Also, there is a Off Topic page for them to go to instead of ruining people's moods. I just hope the sheer ironic and karma would clash a giant ban hammer on those who are so narrow minded and irrational.
