fix my name in the game back to what it was on ps4
can someone at Bungie please fix my identity on the game. I just logged back into destiny on my ps5 instead of my ps4 and now it has changed my name to something stupid that I did NOT choose. Guardian1110 is NOT what my game name should be and seeing it say that is rather irritating. when I go to the name change section for identity on here to fix it, it offers my actual gamer tag. However, when I click to save, it's not registering the save. I know for a fact my gamer ID does NOT violate anything with Bungie, so I know that's not it before anyone tries to bring that up because I've never had an issue until now. It would honestly be a lot easier to have someone from Bungie contact me directly to have this rectified in private ASAP please. I'm sure you all can easily fix the issue. if not I may need to have the new season refunded because I'm NOT playing as Guardian1110 or any other name that I did not choose for myself

7 Replies in this Sub-ThreadHello there[url=https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/902560216871239752/989591085506515074/Hellothere.gif],[/url] If your Bungie Name has been changed to "Guardian####", that indicates that some part of the name broke the [url=https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Legal/CodeOfConduct]Code of Conduct[/url] or the [url=https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/7648312251284-Bungie-Name-Guide]Bungie Name Policy[/url], was filtered, and [b]can no longer be used. You can try a different name if you have not previously changed it.[/b] If the system is not allowing more changes, there is no way to override it.

Hello again, I see what the issue is. it's treating my account as if I already did a name change. To bring you up to speed..the game did this to me years ago and I was able to change it to my screen name I've been using which is Macminaj91. That's why it's showing up as the suggested name which is my ps name but when I click it, it says "you can only change name 1 time" so it is treating it like I have already used my 1 time change...but it isn't recognizing the error it made reverting my profile to guardian. I need someone in the tech department of Bungie to look at this please. on your forum, it says if it goes against conduct, it wouldn't ever have it as a suggested name. it is literally showing up as a suggestion, but the system is treating it like I have already done a name change because 6 years ago...I did to my Macminaj91 name. so it's not allowing me the ability to fix the change it currently made on its own when I decided to use the ps5. I have screenshots if it helps, just send me a private message or something. I would greatly appreciate the assist

Unfortunately, there is no manual review or appeal for moderated names. You can try another name if you would like, but the moderated name is not able to be chosen, as some part of the filter deemed it against either the Bungie Name Policy or Code of Conduct and cannot be overridden.
