If your Bungie Name has been changed to "Guardian####", that indicates that some part of the name broke the [url=https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Legal/CodeOfConduct]Code of Conduct[/url] or the [url=https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/7648312251284-Bungie-Name-Guide]Bungie Name Policy[/url], was filtered, and [b]can no longer be used. You can try a different name if you have not previously changed it.[/b] If the system is not allowing more changes, there is no way to override it.

Hello again, I see what the issue is. it's treating my account as if I already did a name change. To bring you up to speed..the game did this to me years ago and I was able to change it to my screen name I've been using which is Macminaj91. That's why it's showing up as the suggested name which is my ps name but when I click it, it says "you can only change name 1 time" so it is treating it like I have already used my 1 time change...but it isn't recognizing the error it made reverting my profile to guardian. I need someone in the tech department of Bungie to look at this please. on your forum, it says if it goes against conduct, it wouldn't ever have it as a suggested name. it is literally showing up as a suggestion, but the system is treating it like I have already done a name change because 6 years ago...I did to my Macminaj91 name. so it's not allowing me the ability to fix the change it currently made on its own when I decided to use the ps5. I have screenshots if it helps, just send me a private message or something. I would greatly appreciate the assist

Unfortunately, there is no manual review or appeal for moderated names. You can try another name if you would like, but the moderated name is not able to be chosen, as some part of the filter deemed it against either the Bungie Name Policy or Code of Conduct and cannot be overridden.

hello, I've had the name for years on the game though so I don't see how it all of a sudden breaks it when it was fine for the past 6 years. That doesn't make any sense. My screen name before the system randomly chose to do this is Macminaj91 so where in my name does it break any code of conduct??? it's also weird that it didn't do that when I logged on to my game on my ps4 but as soon as I decide to play on ps5, it does it. that's not making any sense whatsoever to me friend

So something that was fine a month ago may not be fine now. Your name was likely caught by the Personal Info part of the filter

Keep In mind names are governed by the Code of Conduct AND the Bungie Name Policy so a name may not necessarily break the code of conduct to be moderated. Any comment as to why it is being moderated would be pure speculation as Bungie has not released specific details as to what the filter is looking for beyond what is written in the Name Policy. At this time, if the name is being blocked, you would have to choose a different name.

That’s my point, it won’t let me choose any new name at all. That’s why I think the system is counting the time I changed the name 6 years ago.
