Destiny 2 – The Game of the Haves and the Have Nots

Bungie pretends this game is for everyone and that you can play whatever way you wish. Marketed on that lie they take your money but really only a subgroup of players can ever get full enjoyment and value for money. As a solo player, cut away any real hope of completing the raids, weekly nightfalls, Trials on the Nine, competitive Crucible, Escalation Protocols, Whisper of the Worm mission etc., etc., and all the weapons and armour that are attached to these events. Kiss goodbye any real chance to enjoy even quickplay Crucible and Iron Banner; finding yourself in a team of blueberries up against a 4, 5 or even 6 person fireteam is about as much fun and as rewarding as a kick in the head. Get ready for everything to be so much harder as heroic missions attached to exotic items are just infinitely more difficult solo than with a fireteam. Prepare to have the weapons and armours beyond your solo player’s reach constantly rubbed in your face while in the tower etc. by the peacocks who have those items which only serves as a constant reminder you of how Bungie has screwed you and other solo players over. It would be easy to get sucked into the hype over the upcoming year 2 but sadly the future content in Forsaken looks like even less content for solo players as just about everything appears to be designed for fireteams. Why does Bungie continue to punish solo players while expecting us to fork out more and more money on this game we are increasingly excluded from and for them to continue to treat us as second class citizens. Bungies lame attempt to try to address this massive problem with the game via “Guided Games” is next to useless and really insulting as it is effectivity a band-aid placed over a sucking chest wound. While for solo players our enjoyment of the game continues to bleed out and for me has reached almost terminal levels. I still don't know if I will buy Forsaken as Destiny has become a game that I both love and hate at the same time. If only Bungie would treat solo players with respect and stop excluding us from content.

    • don't play a game marketed as a multiplayer solo. you can matchmake in a way raids now the only thing as a solo player you are excuded from is Trials, if you mean you want to do all content as a solo player....how are you going to raid anyway? Weird Arguement saying they punish solo players...Destiny has never catered to solo gameplay it never has and never will be that type of game, even if forsaken is better there will still be tons of stuff that will not be accesable totally solo so either accept that or move on, no hate just thats how it is :)

      • I do agree that the game isn’t all that friendly for solo players but...the game wasn’t made for solo players. On the other hand there is still plenty to do for the lone player. It’s an always online game so there is always the option to link up with people and do more if you choose to do so. Honestly you are going to run into a-holes. Like SERIOUS ones. Gaping, seeping, diseased, rotting ones that make you vomit in your mouth a little. On the other hand there are some really awesome people out there too. Link up with a fireteam once or twice. Give it a try before dismissing it completely.

I know on xbox at least there's an LFG feature that's pretty popular. Just go in there and find a squad doing what you want, or even make your own. If you're on PS4 I'm sure there's something similar. **I would hope anyway**

      • Maybe' Anthem' is the game for you? Looks like it's going to be solo oriented where friends can join you to help with adventures that you are able to do mostly alone. Destiny is not for everyone. I used to be a Halo only player, but not anymore. Just some food for thought. :)

      • If you want raid gear, go do a raid. Want to do a nightfall, do one. Nothing is stopping you. You act like you want special treatment because you have a disability beyond your control. Which you do not. Just stop making excuses and do it.

      • If you are really this unhappy, I think the only way for you personally to send a meaningful message to Bungie is to not buy or play the new content. I agree the game is almost openly hostile toward solos, but still find enough enjoyment that I'll still be playing on Sep 4.

      • You've seem to of found the forums. There is this neat feature called fire teams where you can find a squad for everything PvP/PvE related. Most of the activities you don't even have to talk to the other people. Last I checked EP, nightfalls, quickplay etc doesn't require any communication what so ever. So you can join a squad, stay in your box, and live in the allusion that you're still solo qued since that appears to be the only way you enjoy the game.

        • I think bungie should have a seasons weapon tab starting with the first, then every week you do a bounty and when complete you can choose a randon weapon or armor from the season of your choice that you have not got. Just like the fated engram of Xur which would work better (I don't thing it should be for exotics their is not enough to justify it).

Bungie has a bias towards multiplayer content. No question. But you are exaggerating the extent to which it is a part of the game. The only content where the multiplayer bias is a true barrier to accessibility is in the end-game. Nightfalls, Raids, Trials...and to a lesser degree Competitive Crucible. Everything else is either soloable......accessible via random matchmaking (strikes, QP, Iron Banner) or through "emergent" (spontaneous) multiplayer (Escalation Protocol). Bungie is aware of this end-game deficiency, and made a point that The Dreaming City will have a better selection of end-game activities for the solo player. IMO, is that much of Destiny 2 was the result of a change in leadership at Bungie, and an ideological split WITHIN Bungie as to what kind of game Destiny was to be. The faction that controlled Destiny 2s development clearly lost that struggle when the community overwhelming rejected the game we were given. The game is now firmly in the hands of the faction that gave us the last two years of Destiny 1 (The Live Team)....and Forsaken is going to be the first content to drop that was mostly conceived and created under THEIR watch. Whereas the Live Team has spent most of the last 9 months trying to clean up the mess that the D2 Dev Team left for them.

        • If you’re a solo player understand that you have the opportunity to make friends. I’ve been recruiting people into my clan for this reason. We were four. Now we’re six. And almost each day we’ll have a stacked team for a few games
