Dear Snipers: Thank You
Thank you for making this game even more boring. Thank you for showing us that year 2 PVP is actually worse than year 1.
Back in the day Suros Regime and Vex Mythoclast would freak you out but at least you could do something with Shadow Price. Then shotguns and hand cannons came along. It was quick paced and fun. Now? Just people playing far away with snipers and scouts competing on who is the best at hide and seek.
I understand this is what most PVP streamers play (cant believe people actually spend time watching others play video games and even give them money for it but w/e). But really, you have shifted this game to one that is not dynamic at all. There is no relevant nor entertaining PVE content so we have to rely in constant, long and boring PVP events.
I have my vault full of exotic weapons that can easily be countered by any Hawkshaw or any idiotic fast-paced purple weapon in the meta. Whats the point of giving us new exotics if they are going to sit in the vault? Decoration? Epeen?
I don't mind if this game becomes a primarily PVP game. I really don't. Just let the community know so I can decide not to pursue a DLC or Destiny 2.

A player since beta here. You'remore than welcome to check my stats. GT is Ew Simply . So yeah, I kinda agree that the game is boring now, bud back in y1 a sniper couldn't do much in 6v6's. They used to be good, now they're WAY better, but look... We used to play against fusions, that suros/vex era. Plug One's, Give/Take Equations and many more. It wasn't easy tho. Fusions were pretty damn viable. Nothing that a nerf to the ground wouldn't do. Then matador's and felwinter's, hand cannons and pulse rifles era. Control matches I'd wreck then using shotguns. But you had to double your attention to play with a sniper. Now we're having the sniper era. With pulse rifles being a viable option, as well as scouts and hand cannons. And doctrines, though I don't see many doctrines right now. This era is probably the most boring one. Crucible is slow AF, slow paced, slow everything. Control matches not ending and whatever. I agree with you, but all eras, were meant, or not to come.

I much prefer slower, methodical pvp than the run and gun close quarters that most maps encourage.

5 RepliesEvery 3v3 now is virtually a camping snipe fest. Red dots at every corner, hard scoping like it's running out of fashion. So sad.

Alpha player here, and I legitimately think the Crucible was the closest it's ever been to balanced before the game launched. I don't know how the hell we got where we are now, but it's awful. Even the handcannon meta was awful because despite being faster paced, we started losing the casual players way too quickly and they were what kept the Crucible afloat as something dynamic and entertaining. Casual players didn't care about meta weapons, they just used whatever the hell they felt like and that influenced everyone else to do the same. Bungie managed to kill them off, it took a long time and it was a slow, painful process but that innocent fun is gone now. All we've got left are the pulse rifles and scout rifles and camping snipers and rangefinder shotguns. Nobody who's left cares about just screwing around with a fun loadout and seeing who comes out on top. It's all about results and Bungie's let the meta get so clearly defined it could be counted as a failure on the part of the developers. It really hurts to see a game I have so many fond memories of decaying like this, but that's what's happening between the dullness of PVP and the content drought that Bungie should be ashamed of. I've had games I played for years where the decline was peaceful. Slowly things changed, and eventually newbies became vets and we all moved on and brought good memories with us. This is a game where people leave in mass exodus after every big content drop because they dont want to watch it spiral.

Beta player here as well. I 100% agree with you. The PvP is boring now because 95% of the people that still pvp on destiny are slaves to the "META" I mean whats the fun in using a weapon that requires absolutely no skill "Last word" this is why I don't try anymore in destiny because it'll be the same. Boring. Alright everyone pour the salt.

10 RepliesThis game has turned into the bastard love child of CoD, I need a shower everytime I play and that isn't alot anymore. Just recently played on Widows Court and not once did I die from a primary weapon. Game is so dumbed down now and people want to talk about skill....pahahahaahaha

I used pulse/shotgun for nearly 1.5 years. Just switched to universal/longbow cause of the meta. Sniping is way too easy in this game.

4 RepliesI've noticed this iron banner is a lot more fast paced. Less snipers more shot gunning and running around. I freakin love it. Reminds me of the good crucible during HOW. Some of my best games this IB have been with my hawk moon. I'm loving it.

1 ReplyI get killed by a sniper maybe 1 or 2 times a game. How is it so many people die to snipers constantly? Are you that bad or that dumb that you keep running into sniper lanes? I'd really like to know.

Put on a shotgun and just run around like a maniac. I guarantee you that you'll outscore most snipers and be fast-paced while doing it.
