How? You're paying for the entertainment they provide you. Nothing more. ive never paid a streamer and never will but it's no different than paying for sports or a movie or concert. You're paying for entertainment so if watching them play entertains you then by all means do what you wish with your money. Just like I like to pay to watch drag races and go to car shows its my entertainment while a streamer may be someone else's entertainment

Both use physical skills to obtain game based objectives. One is thumb skill, one is core strength. Both are hand eye coordination games.

Dedication plus top tier talent gets you in the door in both sports and esports. However old you are, you need to grow up. Edit: Games are still fun even when it's a job. I know pro gamers and have seen enough pro athlete interviews to know that at least some significant percentage of these folks legitimately love what they do. Shit, I still have a ton of fun at my job. I work in the entertainment industry with The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. We are the building and craft element of rock shows, Broadway style productions, the Sacramento Kings... It's too bad you don't like your job.
