Refer-A-Friend Issues and Misconceptions

Bungie shows that a referee is eligible if they played TTK within 7 Days, but in FAQ (https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=13962) it shows that they cant play TTK before accepting a referral. It also states in the "How to Create a Link" to play TTK. (https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=14003). Then it states here (https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=13997) that once they log in to TTK they are granted Vetern Status. However in there suggested ways of finding new players is to troll early missions and the tower for low level players.

  • refer-a-friend referee hasn't played more than 7hrs but doesn't qualify? because he bought the game last month... wtf is that about. i finally get a new person to agree to link up with me and he doesn't qualify??? he's one of my many friends that i talked into buying the taken king dlc and i don't get jack shit for it. this whole promo is -blam!-ed and bs. i've been playing since day1. grinded relentlessly for gear. bought all the expansions since day1. actually spent real money to buy silver. i just can't do this for a whole year again. no wonder all my friends have moved on. please support my post https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/176313623/0/0/1

Hello, Geekmeleon. Players must do the following within a 7 day period in order to qualify for Referee status 1. Purchase Destiny: The Taken King 2. Install Destiny: The Taken King and recent patches 3. Create a character 4. Create a Bungie.net profile After these steps have been taken, they may accept referrals from Veterans. At the same time, once a player has logged into Destiny: The Taken King, they also qualify for Veteran status. This means that for 7 days, new players may accept a referral from a Veteran, and send referrals to other Referees. All other details may be found in the pages you've linked above.
