Wth. I was actually thinking about buying the new release. It _had_ to be a step up from the original beta they forced on us. So I started playing again. My time for play is very limited right now. Just during the day. And so the lazy bastards decide to do maintenance smack in the middle of the time period they aren't supposed to. _All_ maintenance is supposed to be done between 1am and 6am EST. Most companies just follow this without a comment. Bungie however proves that they couldn't care less about the people that buy their stuff. Goodbye.

  • Maintenance is best done with PEOPLE ARE IN THE OFFICE! If something goes wrong and you don't have the right people to help out, then the maintenance drags on until they come in. They are based on the US... so it's only common that stuff happens during US working hours.

  • Why did you started playing again? Please go back to wherever you came from. Your kind is not welcome here.

  • I like how you feel a company based in a pacific time zone should adhere to the "common" eastern time zone schedule. Get over yourself.

  • So, just to play Devil's Advocate here, the modern freakin' world is 24/7. Most companies run 24/7 nowadays, how is it beyond Bungie's capabilities to find staff who can run this sh!t at different times of the day/night so it's not the same timezones that get shafted every single time? My friend runs his car repair service with just 3 people. They get sh!t done no matter what time they get a call, be it am or pm. Idle IT staff apparently can't function during the night because their mothers are calling them home for dinner at 17:05. Then they have to clean their rooms otherwise they can't go and play for an hour after dinner. Tucked in by mum at 21:00 I guess.

Besides having people in the office to do the maintenance... You have people in the office that are responsible for specific modules. The primary and secondary developer responsible for matchmaking or whatever Add up all the modules and that's a lot of people. And some random dev likely couldn't fix some strange issue Then you have testing. People testing the game and or their modules for some time before they unlock it for everyone else Large computer systems have a lot of people involved with outages. It's more complicated than an emergency request to replace a car battery
