Who wants matchmaking for Trials of Osiris?
For either answer, explain why
Edit: nice to see a good discussion for both points of view, keep the conversation going! Bump this so Bungie can have some feed back before releasing the dlc.
Edit2: Also, Answer this: Do you think people will stop playing the ToO once they get all the armor/guns that you can get from it? Or will Bungie add weekly incentives (alike Iron Banner) to keep 'em playing?

It's just like the raid matchmaking argument. Everybody is forgetting that people can't join a full Fireteam. I think that if you don't have a team, you should be matched up against randoms and if you do have a team, you should be matched against another team

Plenty of other crucible games with matchmaking. I think it's cool PvP gets its own "endgame" type of content that doesn't match make. It's almost like the raid of the PvP player. It's cool that you can form a group of dedicated players to go up against another group that organized their own team. Why shouldn't people benefit from being able to put a team together? Imagine a 3 on 3 basketball tournament. One side is 3 guys that know each other and have practiced for it. The other side is 3 random people that the MC picked out of the crowd. Why should they even get to be in the tournament?

I don't have folks to run with but matchmaking for extremely competitive PVP like this.....hell no....unless it were to force those doing match making to be matched with other randoms, because those that are random will by a large percentage get their asses handed to them in this

You don't need to explain why there should be matchmaking in this it's a pvp mode that's how it has been the whole entire game so far.. Don't give me that bull that it's end game content for pvp.. matchmaking would do fine compared to lfg. Any team could always party up they should have just made matchmaking an option.

My explanation is that I don't want to end up with somebody that could be a whole lot worse than myself and then get a loss in the Trials. I'd rather just go to the forums and find somebody here

In the end there already is and always will be, people will go to lfg fprums and find random peopke exactly the same as matchmaking altho a bit nore refined. There is no way to stop it

4 RepliesDear god yes! Granted, I would never use match making but it would be easy points for my fire team to earn! Let those who want to get their @ss handed to them use it and then us poor scrubs who have a bad fire team that would generally lose to any half decent fire team would have a chance to earn points! Win/win in my books.

I tend to go top three in the leaderboard, if not top and I still end up on the losing team. I'd really rather quickly find 3 players. [spoiler]Plz ignore my mediocre KD, look at my recent games and you'll see I'm not that bad. The thing is I usually have a KD of 1.5 and above with some 2.5s dotted in there, and my KD never -blam!-ing goes up.[/spoiler]

Here are my thoughts on it. First of all you would need a to be a high level to gain entrance (say 32, which is two levels below the max.) Then you match with players who have the same record as you do, and against players who have the same record as you do. (Give or take some for the people who have crazy good records and wouldn't be able to find a team otherwise, and for pre-made fire teams with different records they would be averaged out amongst the group.) This way the games become more and more competitive as time goes on. If you are 3-0, you can be reasonably sure your team isn't going to be horrible, and you are going to have to fight tooth and nail in order to win the game. If you are 0-2 you will be playing with people who are more of your skill level, so once again the match is going to be more competitive. There could even be a party up option like in Halo if you decide that you really liked your team. You could obviously opt out and create your own fireteam if you wanted to, but this way everyone else gets a quick and easy way to have competitive matches.

won't matter... Brace yourselves for all green bars as matches are being set up game starts - battle of the lag switches, queue the downloads, fire up Netflix/Hulu, etc... End game gear on the line is going to bring out the worst of the worst - just because the connection registers good when the game is being setup doesn't mean it will stay that way...

Lacking a third option, I had to vote no. As long as any matchmaking is opt-in/out, it's fine. If compulsory (see also: weekly heroic), then no.

2 RepliesMost people are going to find a match on LFG anyway, why not make it easier. The .01% of the community on these forum (hardcore fans) probably already have a legit fire team, and thats great. Once again we are seeing a painful self inflicted wound. I am disappointed by the decision.

Just stop already because here's the thing, if they had matchmaking for Raids, Nightfalls, PoE, and ToO, you would all use it and come back to the forums whining even more. "Ugh Bungie I am so mad. How come matchmaking can't set me up exclusively with sweaty try-hards that can carry me to victory? I am so sick of getting stuck at Confluxes with idiots with no mics and no clue what to do! (By the way, what do you do there?) Also, my random match made team keeps getting rekt in ToO by teams that are communicating and strategizing together and it's not fair! You need to nerf any team not made in matchmaking!" Not to mention that ROC and Weeklies are still LOADED with AFKers looking for free rewards. If they're going to add an option, it should be to solo those not matchmake more things. I'd much rather grind my Vanguard Marks alone than help earn AFK trash free stuff. Bungie is smart enough to know that as much as you complain about being "locked out" of content by being too lazy to make friends through LFG services, that you would complain infinitely more about how terrible these end-game activities are if they threw you into them with other random idiots like yourself to get slaughtered. I think most of you have actually tried LFG before but you were so bad and so whiny no sane person would want to play with you a second time.

I don't have a solid crew, only some guys that I do the Nightfall with sometimes. And for every 1 good person on the Bungie forums, there's 20 or so dinguses.
