It's just all about choosing the right weapon for your encounter. My setup is 3LW + Felwinter's Lie. If I can keep my distance then 3LW absolutely shreds people, however if enemies start to close in, or I need to navigate a tunnel to change positions, why wouldn't I want to have a shotgun with me? As a Warlock I love shotguns. 1 shot + melee ftw.

I agree but I like to use mida. The agility perk suits my play style, and have a shot gun as back up for the close encounters.
