I always loved the Xbox. I've had the Xbox ever since the original. But with the new details on how Micro$oft -blam!-ed up so much (but, the can still fix it in the future) is killing me. Here are some reasons as to why and why not I will buy, and what would you do.
Good
1. Halo fan- I have been a Halo fan since the original. Halo 5 will be an exclusive for the One, and I highly doubt that it would also be on the 360. It would really suck if I'm not able to play it anymore. I've grown up to that game.
2. My account- I've put a lot of work in my account with LIVE. It will suck to have it all go.
3. I don't buy used games all that much
4. I like some of the new things like Skype, and the games look good.
Bad
1. Almost all my friends are set to buy a PS4. It'll such for me to be one of the only people not playing a PS4. I want to have a social life.
2. I bought games from friends a lot of times. Now One is saying I can't do that? Thats -blam!-ing shit.
3. Too expensive in my opinion. 500 bucks plus games is terrible. Micro$oft needs to think about the people that cant afford that kind of stuff, but want to play their system.
4. Online at all times- My internet connection sorta sucks, and I am currently playing offline with my 360 because my router from Xfinity wont connect to my Xbox. If the router doesnt connect to the one, what the heck am I gonna do with it?
5. Maybe Halo is dying...
-
I recommend getting te ps4 and keeping the 360
-
EDIT: This post is really outdated and I'm getting the One after they took off the DRM
-
Get what ever you really want, or what most of your friends get. But mostly, which ever you feel will be more fun to use.:)
-
In seriousness, me personally would get the ps4 in this situation. I only bought a xbox 360 because most of my friends had it. i play my 360 more than my ps3 but like I posted earlier xbox fanboys would go to xbox no matter what your situation is.
-
I would say Xbox one, but get what your friends are getting or which system has the exclusives you want.
-
1. Almost all my friends are set to buy a PS4. It'll such for me to be one of the only people not playing a PS4. I want to have a social life. Xbox fanboys in a general: get what your freinds have! Xbox fanboys when someone's not buying there console: you'll find new freinds!
Almost all my friends are set to buy a PS4. It'll such for me to be one of the only people not playing a PS4. I want to have a social life.
You'll find new friends on forums and playing games online. None of the friends on my list are people I know in real life. No big deal.
I like some of the new things like Skype, and the games look good.
Self-justifying; nothing needs to be said since you have convinced yourself of this. Good job.
Too expensive in my opinion. 500 bucks plus games is terrible. Micro$oft needs to think about the people that cant afford that kind of stuff, but want to play their system.
It stings, sure, but if you can make it worth your while, no problem. If you compare it to the PS4, the price difference is only a couple games at best, whoop-dee-doo, big freaking deal. Get over it and drop the extra $100 if you want it, or don't if you don't. Don't pretend like this is an issue, because it isn't in the grand scheme of things.
Online at all times- My internet connection sorta sucks, and I am currently playing offline with my 360 because my router from Xfinity wont connect to my Xbox. If the router doesnt connect to the one, what the heck am I gonna do with it?
Get a new router/ISP? And you only have to check in once a day for a couple minutes. You can even perform the check-in using a smartphone if you have one.
Good I don't buy used games all that much Bad I bought games from friends a lot of times. Now One is saying I can't do that? Thats -blam!-ing shit.
You can trade games with friends as long as you have been friends on Live for 30 days and you can only trade the game once.
My account- I've put a lot of work in my account with LIVE. It will suck to have it all go.
As long as you keep your 360 you'll be fine. Since the One doesn't have backwards compatibility, that ought to be a no-brainer.
Good Halo fan- I have been a Halo fan since the original. Halo 5 will be an exclusive for the One, and I highly doubt that it would also be on the 360. Bad Maybe Halo is dying...
To me, Halo died when 343i took it over, but then I am also blisteringly biased towards Bungie, so take that as you will.

Get PS4 they have KNACK!!!
-
Based on your situation now, you should not buy an Xbox One. The Playstation 4 will give you the same kind of experience you have now, with next-gen performance. The Xbox One is shifting to a digital distribution model that requires a good internet connection, and that should be the main issue for you.
-
Buy a PS4. Being alone while your friends are all on the other console would suck. Also you said your internet sucks.
-
2. I bought games from friends a lot of times. Now One is saying I can't do that? Thats -blam!-ing shit.
You don't need to buy the game.
-
The Xbox one has many features similar to the PS4. It even has better npcs and connection and some other stuff. The PS4 also has many cool things too. The main difference besides crappy marketing is if you have a good internet connection
-
Research yourself and get info from official sources that have been recently written. Not old postings, or none official sources. Especially from here all you will hear is fanboys
-
Nobody read your post, or cares about your situation, everyone just voted for what they are getting.

i bought a 360 for gears. Then i bought a ps3 after mgs4 came out (and a price drop). Most of my gamer friends were on live playing halo, so i ended up playing 360 a lot more than i thought i would. If your friends are playing on ps4 and you enjoy playing with them, then buy a ps4. Plus halo is all but dead.
-
Get the x one. You can join me and my other friends. Halo is not dead. Xbox one has so much more then Skype on it. The games are also great. The ps4 is just a 360 with better hardware. Nothing new or innovative. If you're having router problems call Comcast and have them help you fix it. There is no reason it shouldn't connect. They have routers specifically for Xbox gaming or online gaming.
-
Well if you think Halo is dying, then get PS4.

I like some of the new things like Skype, and the games look good.
Skype, much like Netflix, is available on every device known to man - why is yet another device capable of Skype compelling? And the games look good? I agree to some extent. Forza looks like a solid racer, Killer Instict seems interesting (never was a fan tbh), but what other games look to make the Xbone worthy of your $500?

Halo is dying, Halo 4 is the worst performing of the series with figures reaching 14,000 players 7 months after launch and 343i, clearly influenced by the company that made who wants more money, set out to change Halo making it more like what people play most to attract more crowds and sell more copies, Call of Duty.

Edited by Xmark120: 6/14/2013 1:41:34 PMI suggest that you buy the console that most of you friends buy, since my best friend entered this generation with the PS3, but I choose the Xbox 360. It was HELL ( for me ) playing alone. My choice payed out in the end, though. Because my friend used to be a casual gamer that didn't even play competitive games, but when he got used to playing Halo and Gears of war with me, he started to prefer competitive games. And that's why he is considering buying the 360, this summer.
-
Buy the console that you think has the better games. Its that simple. Its why I chose Wii U (even though those games aren't out yet).
-
Do the games your friends will play on the PS4 appeal to you? If yes, then buy a PS4 since it's always more fun to be social.

I'm leaning more towards the PS4. Not even interested anymore on the Xbox or any other Micro$oft product. I've been a loyal Xbox consumer since the original, and this is the thanks that we get? I'm really wanting that PS4.
