The Fabian Strategy, the exotic auto rifle with a ballistic shield on the front of it. Its existing perks all run well together so it is a decent weapon, but it has no exotic perk. Nothing about it makes it exotic or stands out in any way -except for that extra armor strapped to the front.
I cannot imagine why the only exotic weapon with armor on it doesn't have an exotic perk related to that armor. It absolutely should.
What it needs is a slightly tweaked version of the Guerrilla Fighter perk. The Taken King perk which grants increased accuracy, handling, and damage resistance when behind cover. The only change to the perk with the Fabian Strategy is that it should grant this when you ADS.
This is a fitting perk for many reasons. First, it makes use of the cover offered by the weapon, and it does so in an existing and non-game breaking method.
Second, the perk is unique but not so far out on its own to destabilize the game.
Third (and this is my favorite part), guerrilla fighting is very similar to the Fabian Strategy. Both styles of warfare steer away from a full frontal attack in favor of more indirect methods of attack (targeting the wings and edges of a group, supply routes, and other priority targets).
Additionally, the perk fits with the Fabian Strategy's existing perk layout. Crowd Control and Life Support would mesh just as well with Guerrilla Fighter as it does with Front Line. (Possibly even better)
It is the perfect fit. Its cosmetic design, its perk list, even its name all match like it was intentionally designed to. -It fits so well, that you could even call the perk 'Fabian Strategy' instead of 'Improved Guerrilla Fighter' and it would fit!
Bungie, its perfect. It needs to happen. Fabian Strategy needs an exotic perk, and this one is perfect for it. Make this happen, please.

Shameful necrobump.

I like it. Clean.... Simple.
-
-
Agreed. The main perk Front Lines is broken.
-
Behind cover is not the idea for this gun at all. It's for close quarters only. That's why it's for titans
-
All that but the damage resistance

Let's be honest many items in destiny have perks/nods that are useless and conflicting. Bungies is just lazy with its attention to detail in there game and it stands out to anyone who would spend 5 minutes going through there inventory. My opinion anyway. So much potential. So little delivered.

Guerilla fighter could help but it's main perk needs a little buff I think they were worried about dps being too high for crucible and so the perk almost does nothing more stability could help
-
Dude they just need to increase stability across all auto rifles and adjust the time to kill. But the way they made this meta, auto rifles will always be bad in comparison to pulse. When a blue HC has a better stability then an exotic auto. That's your sign they don't care. Bc honestly Hc are the worst primaries in the game. My point is,what your asking will never happen. Not bc it isn't a good idea, but bc they don't listen.
-
How bout they first make the stability high enough to compete with green hand cannons
-
This needs to be heard.
-
Maybe make is so when you aim down sights you gain a small armor boost
-
Yeah the Fabian strategy sucks ass. It literally is so bad. It needs some sort of a buff, I'd recommend a general range and stability buff though. But overall it needs tuning, it's my last choice of weapon to use, basically ever. Pretty pathetic, and yeah. Worst exotic currently? Maybe, but if it ain't, it's close.
-
Omg yes Bumpbumpbumpbumpbumpbumpvump
-
Guerilla doesnt even work in my experience
-
That would have poor synergy with Fabian design. A better perk would be increased damage resistance when surrounded
-
THIS.
-
-
Yes. Completely yes
-
It needs a perk called WAR MACHINE! unflinching and Increased armor when ADS! Problem solved!
-
It needs a exotic perk that acually works
-
Dude i hope that bungie sees that and do it cause this would be Dope
-
guerilla fighter's bonuses, without the having to use the cover mechanic requirement. That needs to be on fabian strategy. Perhaps add it to the circle that gives it it's other things.
-
Fabian needs to loose the plates, otherwise it will be sitting inside my vault for a very long time. OR I'll just infuse it with my pulse rifle
