The process of crafting guns for the game utilizes a different process than that of Borderlands. Bungie has said that they've reused parts for guns, but that each was individually crafted. I also do not recall the weapons being tailored to play-style, so I would like to observe where you heard/saw that information, as it would help me understand your point better. I would appreciate it. About your gun log idea. I believe it could be possible, since Bungie has a list of guns that they've made, rather than generated, so they could implement a system where you could view guns that you have seen before. I myself am not a devout completionist, so I can't fully relate with your concerns, but I do hope that you can find something in the game to acknowledge your work towards the betterment of weapons.

  • The "Tailored to Playstyle" was something I'd imagined it to be since equipment dropped is based upon the Focus of your character (so you would seldom, if ever, find equipment that was useless to you and the way you are playing). The way I'd understood this is that you decided what Focus to take (basically a playstyle) and other equipment drops based themselves around this in order to limit equipment drops players didn't really want or need. This is just the way I had understood their system, and it may be completely wrong. However, the way I currently understand it (right or wrong) sounds pretty awesome in my opinion. I can understand some players not really being "completionists". It's a fairly significant time investment. I'm one of those players that doesn't really appreciate "PvP" or "Multiplayer" that much. Everyone has different tastes. My tastes just so happen to involve wanting to have some kind of record somewhere that I'd maxed out a piece of equipment (which I also consider a form of skill... being good with everything instead of absolute pro with a single loadout). I like collecting things, I like making those things as fantastic as possible, and I like others to know I've spent that kind of time doing it. I would just like to know if there's a method/way to have that information.

  • "Where there's a will, there's a way," they say. But logistically, I do think that you will be able to keep up with your progress in some way. I also agree on the focus-tailor specific. It makes good sense, and would help specialize loot and give it a better chance of being helpful to the guardian who gets it. Lastly, I am parallel to your preference, as I am fairly fond of PvP. I don't participate on a regular basis, but I enjoy the activity, as it gives you a challenge far greater than AI.

  • Bungie has been saying that they're looking to reward nearly all time investment in their game with some kind of way to let others know they've accomplished something. I was quite excited to hear them speak about the whole "If you did something really hard and time consuming in the storyline like the Mythic Difficulty in Halo, we want to reward that kind of investment". I'm honestly just hoping they've got something in the works to reward my kind of investment in their game. I used to enjoy PvP quite a bit. But, I got old. My reflexes aren't what they used to be and my mind isn't as "sharp" as it once was (as in, ability to quickly assess situations and instinctively know the best way to approach the scenario). I'm getting close to thirty and have been finding that I enjoy more moderate to slow paced multiplayer (like Battlefield) as it allows me time to think, ability to sneak around, and use loadouts that aren't necessarily geared for "more power", but are useful just the same. It also doesn't help when I've been playing Online Multiplayer since I was 19, and here I am 9 years later absolutely tired of all the players I've ever met. I don't even mean the people who abuse microphones or cheat. I mean the players who refuse to work together or even refuse to learn basic concepts of a game like "play the objective". Because of that, I'm more interested in story driven experiences. Though, I do understand the allure of "pwning some nubs" in Multiplayer. Even when I occasionally do so, it's quite satisfying.

  • Completely understand, my good friend. Though I look forward to going into all of Destiny's events, I am fully aware that I will run into ignorant guardians throughout my journey. I myself balance these experiences with the foreknowledge that all online communities have people of this stereotype, no matter how hard anybody tries to rid the world of them. On the side, I can never call a match of any FPS "slow", unless everybody is a sniper (I've been in those matches, and they can take some time). Know that I am certain that you will be rewarded for your effort, fellow guardian. Here's hoping there truly is something for everybody.
