Alters is bad because of how many and quickly adds respawn, plus there is no safe place to rally. So your expected to run and gun while swarmed by high level adds and complete objectives.

You’re “expected” to do the tier that suits you and the team best. There are no brownie points for participation and failing the tier. Why would someone willingly put a tier 3 in, when your team could barely handle a tier 2. I always start with Tier 2 first. Helps gauge your teams skill set before hand. No reason to force feed a tier 3 and fail it. Waste of time that way.

If bungie added it the base mode and its match made, then clearly they "expected" you to go all out because we are gamers and games always do the most efficient grinding even if it makes you hate the game. If i was wrong, then you wouldn't see so many gamers rush to place that tier 3 offering. Not to mention that depending on RNG, tier 3s can vary greatly in difficult since some encounters are easier than others.

I’m gonna have to disagree. Most “gamers” see this as a hobby, and aren’t as “skilled” as they think they are. They try and do the highest tiers, and probably fail the first time(s). People love saying they’re capable of doing a activity they know they aren’t. It’s no different then the gamers you get on a LFG post that says “KWTD”, and they dont actually “KWTD”. Being efficient isn’t about doing the highest tier possible everytime with little success. Do the tier you and you’re team are capable of first, and if you need to decrease/increase the tiers, do so accordingly. Again, no point wasting time on a tier 3 when the team can barely do a tier 2.
