Players think they are better than they are and do a powerful offering, have only completed one. Insta kill every time by bosses that 2 shoot you. Powerful Offering is the grandmaster version and time gated so you are expected to keep trying and most are expected to keep failing.
For the most part the activity is nothing more than a time burn with little loot. Savathuns Spire however is fun and doable flawless if you don't fall.

Edited by Cinderchar: 8/28/2023 9:26:55 PMIt's strange because Salvage feels like it should have been a 3 player activity last season but was 6 and Alter now seems closer to a 6 player activity but is only 3. Wouldn't surprise me if one of the interns got that mixed up.

1 ReplyThey shouldn't of started off with attrition as the nerf perk, its like they wanted us to hate it.
-
4 RepliesI don’t mind Summoning but I am sorta shocked it wasn’t a six player mode. It has the Court of Oryx vibe to it.
-
Unless you`re the one who chooses the level of play difficulty, you`re stuck in an activity that might be beyond your skills level. So you either need to be the one who makes the choice, or go into it with a team that has already agreed on what level of difficulty to play... which makes it hard on solo casuals.
-
I like the idea of the activity but feel like it would've been more fun without the mechanics maybe(even though they're not that hard) and the difficulty not being as high.l understand some people like challenging activities but not every new activity needs to be a challenge.Spire should've been the challenging activity while the Alters one could've been a lower level one that's more about fun like the Court of Oryx was in D1.

Totally agree. Summonings is just another dam Deep Dives activity. Lots of power-fixed ads that are bullet sponges that can 2-shot you with a time gate so small you can't complete the dam activity when you're shot to hell as soon as you expose your pinky toe. Oh, plus mods that work against you to make your life more of a living hell. To be honest, for something that is a seasonal activity, that's pretty bullshit. And I don't care if anyone says, "Haha, skill issue" because I don't care. I wanna have fun for at least once in this world that if you get one bad paycheck or get fired for no reason, then you're on the streets. I don't mind there being a challenge, just don't make it infuriating or annoying to deal with. This is what happens when Bungo only listens to the 1% or so on that are streamers and literal no lives (that probably forgot what grass looks, smells, and feels like) that somehow get up to power level and 100+ season pass within a couple of days. Like bruh, the average casual player doesn't have that kind of time on their hands because of this thing called a J.O.B and a L.I.F.E. That's that's the end of my rant. Have a pleasant day, yall.

These forums do a good job at making alters seem like the hardest activity ever made, but in reality it's easy. Tier 3 offerings take slightly more effort but if you can take out those shriekers asap it's a breeze. I'm hoping tier 7+ offerings make their way in quickly
-
3 RepliesAlters is bad because of how many and quickly adds respawn, plus there is no safe place to rally. So your expected to run and gun while swarmed by high level adds and complete objectives.
-
3 RepliesDisagree. Spire is boring and long... feels like a pain running a marathon every -blam!- activity.
-
Edited by Slevi: 8/28/2023 1:24:48 AMBecause Savathuns Spire is essentially a battlegrounds strike. Chances are it will make it way into the strike play list. I do agree with altars of summoning being too hard for the average player. Too many casuals thinking they can get carried as if it were tier 3 blindwell.
-
Summoning is a pain when it's scorn but six players isn't the answer. Then you're fighting other players for kills. The fix could be simple balancing. I've been in random teams that have completed when it isn't scorn.

Summoning has been horrible for me. Most of the time I load into a failed run, and one player running around. Text with a timer on 0. Then we start a run and nothing progresses…timer always at 0. “Fun”
-
Absolutely agree. Alter just sucks. Rooms semi big and they just stuffed it full of mobs and it’s a waste of time. Needs to be a 6 man run for sure or they need to tone down the number of enemies. One room is nothing but witches, lightbearers and Shrikers you do nothing but revive and die. Rinse and repeat. It has to capability to be a really fun encounter if they increased group to 6 or took the number of enemies down. Spire is amazing and love that new addition to the game. Alter until it’s fixed will sit and waste away for my activities to do. So many possibilities but they just had to go and push it to far.
-
Summoning should have been a 6-player activity. It’s not terrible but attrition week 1 is always terrible… forces you to play either super passive or super aggressive. Spire isn’t bad but I could see the jumping puzzle getting really old after a while. It’s way too long to grind for it.
-
11 RepliesThey're both already boring, but what's new. Altars of Summoning is beyond stupid for forcing you to sparrow between arenas during your progress bar
-
Six is probbly to many on those maps IMO. I think maybe four would be better though.
-
Maybe try grouping up with people that aren’t bad
-
I prefer Altar. I imagine you just need to level up the artifact to be a little more powerful. I hated it at times during my first try of it, but it grew on me and I appreciate the difficulty. You just need to optimize more and play a little safer I guess. In hindsight, a Glaive would likely be very good.
-
Summoning would be better if it was a 6 player activity or more people shied away from the powerful offering option unless they have a full fireteam. Spire? Haven’t done it since the first mission. I imagine all those jumps are still needed. Unless you are carried to the next encounter by the more skilled and faster jumper, I will simply avoid this.
-
That sounds more like a player issue, not a game issue. Nothing wrong with doing 1s and 2s, but for some reason people only want to do 3s, even when they not ready for it. Only issue I have with the seasonal activities is there is no 'quick' activity. The spire is quicker, but still longer compared to other quick seasonal activities.

Edited by immnsar: 8/27/2023 1:00:18 AMSummoning is great u don’t have to keep loading in the choice of difficulty and good variety of encounters it’s been along time that bungie made something like this. Not saying it’s perfect but it’s a nice change can’t wait for tier 4

4 RepliesI honestly am enjoying a challenge with the arena mode. You definitely have to have a full fireteam and know what they are doing.
