What Pinnacle rewards are you actually going for? If you are only going for Weekly Strikes, Weekly Crucible, Weekly Gambit, and the Weekly Clan Reward, these all only give a +1 drop, this means in order to get to 1251 base, you would need to get all 8 items to drop which takes 22 drops on average to obtain, that's 5.5 weeks worth of +1 Pinnacle drops to get 1 level. The Pinnacle System is based on leveling up through +2 Pinnacle drops, these are obtained from Deep Stone Crypt, 100k Nightfall, Master Empire Hunt, Prophecy Dungeon Boss, Weekly Wrathborn Hunt Challenge, Weekly Exo Challenge, and the Flawless Trials Chest. If you aren't doing any of these activities, the Pinnacle Grind will be extremely slow. Doing +2 Pinnacle drops will get you from 1250 to 1251 in 5 drops on average, much better than 22.

You do realize that most of those activities are extremely easy, correct? Let's go from easiest to hardest: 1. Weekly Wrathborn Hunt Challenge: This one is straight forward and can be done by all players (even the non-basement dweller no lifers). If you do the base difficulty versions of the hunts, they are 1150 Power, which is a breeze. You can charge the Lure from core activities while getting your +1 drops then do the 5 hunts required to get this very easy +2 Pinnacle drop. 2. Weekly Exo Challenge: This would be #1 except it does require a number of Sabotage missions in order to unlock. Once you unlock Europan Explorer III from Variks, this gives a +2 Pinnacle drop from the Exo Challenge. This is very easy to solo as it is mostly a jumping puzzle with easy adds to kill. Each one has a boss of sorts, but there is no darkness zone and they have low health bars. Even you can do this one. 3. Deep Stone Crypt: Yes, I am putting the raid at this point on the list. DSC is one of the easiest and straight-forward raids that has ever been released, especially in D2. Go on LFG and find a group to help teach you. There are plenty of Sherpas to help new players. On top of that, this is FOUR drops, easiest source of +2 Pinnacle drops, even for players like you. 4. 100k Nightfall: This one is sometimes hit or miss, a seasoned team can easily hit 100k every time on Legend, but sometimes it requires Master or a specific style of play in order to get above 100k. Broodhold for example is only possible on Legend if you farm one of the Champions for extra score, which is not necessarily intuitive. Nevertheless, go on LFG and find a group, most of the time it is easy to do. 5. Prophecy Dungeon Boss: If you have experience with this fight, it is pretty easy, however, it can be harder for players like you that have only done it once last season. If you can find someone to help on LFG, this is pretty easy to get done. My recommendation would be to get a Boss CP from someone, then post on LFG that you need help, but have the CP, you will probably get someone to help out. 6. Master Empire Hunt: This is where things start to get difficult. Given that you feel most of this list is only for basement dweller no lifers, I don't suggest this one for you until you are at least 1271 Power. You can easily get it done at a lower level, but your negative attitude towards Pinnacle activities will serve as a negative modifier. 7. Trials Flawless Chest: Do I really need to explain? You aren't getting this one done...

I edited my comment, I meant it to be like "do I need to explain, you aren't getting this done anyway" Fair play. I thought it was obvious because I said from easiest to hardest, I guess not.

  • Appreciate the break down. I've done the 1 and 2's so far and yes no issues 3-5 I need to get my small clan motivated. As I said above I'm generally not going through things with randos. 6 we'll need to wait and see. 7 is a hard nope.

  • This is probably the most productive comment of the bunch. I knew the weekly stuff dropped lower but also didn’t realize how many other things other than raids dropped plus 2. I am guessing my luck has just sucked. Every plus 2 has been in grieves or power weapons. Haven’t gotten anything above 1250 in kinetic or helmet, arms, and chest. Thank you for your guidance Master-San! (Not tongue in cheek or sarcastic. For real thank you for explaining.) I appreciate it. Just started playing at the end of September.
