I have spent 3 weeks finishing weekly Pinnacles and cannot get my Titan higher than 1250 base. This week every "Pinnacle" award dropped under my greaves at 1251 (3 weeks ago, my first pinnacle at 1250 dropped at 1252 in my greaves).
This is getting ridiculous. I know it is a grind, but 3 weeks and nothing to show for it?
-
Exactly. Yesterday i got to 1344 finally but now its impossible to get to 1345 because the pinnacle drops are only giving me stuff with the same power as i have 😑

My biggest issue with the Power level system, is that they brainwash you into feeling as though the power grind is progression. You keep coming back to try to level up. But then when you do hit the pinnacle cap, you feel complete emptiness in the game. I have been 1259 and 7/8 for 3 weeks now, just needing one piece of gear on the Warlock. My other two characters have been 1260 for a few weeks, and I barely grinded with them. I only played them to boost the warlock faster. Since they hit 1260, I have no "reason" to play them, because there is no progression. The fact is that the actual content is so little, that they need to keep players on the wheel with the power level grind to make them feel as though there is some sort of progression. I personally would prefer that the power level disappears, and we can just start playing the activities for enjoyment, and focus on fun builds... but that would mean that they would have to produce better content. Much of the enjoyable content was removed at the start of Beyond Light, that there is really not much to do outside of patrol, and the core activities which are completely played out. The power grind at the start of the season, completely ruins the feel of the game and sucks all of the fun out of it. I am at the point that I now only play the pinnacle activities on Warlock, and might solo run the Ordeal or Empire hunts on loop for enjoyment.

1 ReplyDropping at the same level I already have. The grind isn't worth it. And they won't fix anything.

2 RepliesSum of all pinnacle gains for the week across 3 characters completing pinnacle quests: exo challenge, strikes, crucible, gambit, hunts: Warlock +1 weapon level (out of a possible 7) Hunter+2 armor level (out of a possible 7) Titan +2 armor level (out of a possible 7) Grand total for grinding 3 characters across 15 pinnacle challenges is: +5 armor/weapon levels (out of a possible 21) THIS GRIND IS SO CRAPPY

3 RepliesEdited by HaVoK308: 12/31/2020 6:59:19 AMGrandmaster Nightfalls launch. Available for limited time. 1275 to play. Because of the bullshit pinnacle drops, I’ll never play it. By the time I get to 1275 the season will be over. I get the same pinnacle drops over and over. Not just the same slot, but the same item! There is nothing random about that. If you can predict with a high level of accuracy, the drop you’re about to get, you can’t call it RNG.

2 RepliesEdited by TheDirtShrew566: 12/29/2020 6:06:54 PMThere are millions of posts about this. The simple answer is Bungie has implemented a loot throttling algorithm to keep the player on the hamster wheel. Power/Light level does absolutely nothing for you. If you were 1 billion and sixty power/light, you would still get shit on by a red bar enemy. Season 13, 14, 20, etc. is a month away and the cap will be raised again to keep said hamster on said wheel. Enjoy.

It cannot be every pinnacle as you would get many 1252 pieces of gear. If you are getting 1251 gear then you are doing one of the 4 +1 pinnacle activities. There are more +2 pinnacle sources than +1 sources. Maybe do more of those and it will increase your chances to increase your light level

3 RepliesEdited by sabarsaif79: 12/29/2020 7:32:22 PMRng algorithm in destiny: 1st drop - equal chance to get loot for all slots. 2nd drop - increase the chance of slot which previous loot dropped for by 25% 3rd drop - increase the chance of slot which previous loot dropped for by 25% 4th drop - decrease the chance of slot which has lowest light by 80%. Equal chance for remaining slots.

2 RepliesMaybe a bit off topic but does playing 3 characters slow down power lvling compared to 1 character I used to play 3 but time restrictions only allow me to play 1 now an just doing the weekly's gear seems to be coming smoothly an power climbing at steady pace I play solo an don't raid or any activity outside matchmaking.

This☝️! Same deal for me I’m at 1263 with artifact all my drops are at 1250 or 1251 , most of all my gear is leveled to 1251. So I don’t get it all Pin drops are giving me nothing I don’t already have☹️

8 RepliesEdited by s h a k e: 12/29/2020 7:23:44 PMgame is a complete waste of time Almost nothing you do is rewarding and worth your time Tell me I'm lying

Dude you’ve done like 3 pinnacle activities. Maybe if you did every pinnacle and we’re having this issued feel for you, but you’re barely even doing pinnacles.
-
2 RepliesIt took me 3 weeks to go from 1250 to 1260. I used all 3 characters and did every(including the 4 from the raid) pinnacle. I had lots of bullshit drops along the way too. Something's wrong if you're doing every pinnacle and are stuck at the same level for 3 weeks.
-
i did some pins before the reset on my hunter and got 2 pieces of gear lower than what i had, like why does this even happen

20 RepliesPinnacles for exo challenge, 1280 empire hunt , prophecy dungeon, wrath borne hunt completion, 100k nightfall, clan reward and raid drop +2 after you hit 1250 ( base) . Strikes, gambit, and crucible drop +1. Iron banner drops +2 also. I’ve been trying to get a chest piece for my warlock to finish all 3 characters to 1260 ( base) It’s frustrating
-
7 RepliesWhat Pinnacle rewards are you actually going for? If you are only going for Weekly Strikes, Weekly Crucible, Weekly Gambit, and the Weekly Clan Reward, these all only give a +1 drop, this means in order to get to 1251 base, you would need to get all 8 items to drop which takes 22 drops on average to obtain, that's 5.5 weeks worth of +1 Pinnacle drops to get 1 level. The Pinnacle System is based on leveling up through +2 Pinnacle drops, these are obtained from Deep Stone Crypt, 100k Nightfall, Master Empire Hunt, Prophecy Dungeon Boss, Weekly Wrathborn Hunt Challenge, Weekly Exo Challenge, and the Flawless Trials Chest. If you aren't doing any of these activities, the Pinnacle Grind will be extremely slow. Doing +2 Pinnacle drops will get you from 1250 to 1251 in 5 drops on average, much better than 22.
-
Do the +2 pinacles raid 100k exo challenge 5 hunts and you will see progress The +1 pinacle strike gambit crucible are barely worth effort
-
5 RepliesRNG gear leveling is an awful progression system, also being forced to play game modes you don't enjoy just to have to try and progress is not good either.
-
Depends what Pinnacles you're doing. The ones you get from doing the core activities only give +1 or 2, while the other ones usually give higher Power. Usually the Raid Pinnacles are the best way of getting your Power level up.

Edited by Tis-but-a-scratch: 12/30/2020 6:34:27 AMJust made my own post about this. Same here. Clan mates are getting their light level increased but I haven’t had above a 1251 in weeks. Difference for me though is NOTHING is dropping above 1251
-
I love getting the same chest armour drops at pinnacle level when I need them elsewhere

1 ReplyEdited by HK_Mark23_Osprey: 12/30/2020 8:05:30 AMTo show you what’s normal for me that you would think it’s ridiculous—- my Titan needs only a 1260 gauntlets before today’s reset, how many pinnacles would you think I have to go thru with Bungie elite dev team’s turd (I mean Pinnacle) dropping algorithm (call it RNG would be an insult to all who know how to count, not just mathematicians) or how many times giving the game middle fingers before I get that 1260 armor? So far I’ve got 9 pinnacles and none of them was the gauntlets I need. This is just one character. I would not be surprised that Mr. Smith would choke on reading this when he laughs so hard while eating unless he’s on a ventilator. Here are the 9 pinnacles I did trying to get that one helmet, strikes, Gambit, Crucible, Crow’s 5 hunts, 1280 Hunt, one DSC raid (something interesting/funny though with the raid, it dropped the first hand cannon after 30 completions, still no rocket launcher). The game and those behind it got another finger and more to come.

4 RepliesLuke Smith's deluded ass thinks grinding to hit a new multiple of 50 LL every season and then follow that up with an even longer grind to hit another 10 LL is a level is engaging content. It's busy work, that's it. It's what elementary school teachers give kids because there wasn't enough curriculum material to fill the entire school day. I was 300LL when D2 started, I'm 1280LL now. Nothing has changed, those dregs in Trostland are exactly the same. It's a meaningless number meant to reward people who treat the game as a second job. Long story short, don't bother if you don't want to. It's just an excessively large time sink for the people who want to leave the world and live in a room playing Destiny all the time. If Bungie wants to monopolize people's time (and wallet) using the GaaS model, they need to start ponying up real content. (But let's face it, they can't. That Tiger engine derivative is so old and cumbersome they'll never pull off more than what we see now)

8 RepliesEdited by Jedi1Mind1Trick: 12/29/2020 7:26:44 PMIts called a SOFT CAP for a reason son. max light is 1250 in the game. Deal with that. If you want to go higher you do the RAID. That has pinnacles dropping alot higher than your light. Its an incentive to RAID which is the main part of Destiny and what it is known for since 2014. Youve had 6 years to learn that. BUT they do give you a slow progression of pinnacles plus one and occasionally plus two if you are too lazy to join FIRETEAMS on this very website to RAID. The pinnacles drop at one above your current light level. NOT above whatever your highest stat on each weapon or armor. so at 1250 light you have to get a pinnacle at all 3 weapons and all 5 armors. thats 8 pinnacle drops plus you will get duplicates of course. Probably take you 15 pinnacle drops to go to 1251 from 1250 if you dont LIKE that then grow a pair and go raid. the new raid is said to be super easy now. If you want to join REAL pinnacle activities you have to do the only real pinnacle activity in Destiny. RAIDING!!!!!! Btw I have not yet done the new raid but i will. evidently its weapon drops are mostly amazing for PvP play. And i love PvP ALSO I AM ALREADY 1255 LIGHT AND HAVENT RAIDED YET. PLUS 19 for artifact and im 1274!

Dude if you aren't here for the basic "pew-pew" then it is a you problem. Than number means nothing, does nothing other than act as a gate and will be raised next season.
