I too think this is a stupid move, I never understood why Bungie makes the older content not important by letting loot to drop way below current power. I still would run around the dreaming city and shadow keep if it gave me loot at my power level. Now I'll only run it if I'm bored. That doesn't show well on the number side of things. More players would enjoy older content if it gave higher powered rewards..
More players would enjoy older content if it gave higher powered rewards..
To be honest, I don’t think that’s much incentive for them. If you’re happy playing old content and are capable of getting to max power level just running the old stuff, that leaves much less reason to buy the next thing they worked on. Still sucks, I know, but from a business standpoint it sorta makes sense.

U guys realize that dcv is literally full of stuff that we already paid for. That will b doled out to us to buy again in the future. The whole thing was a way for bungie to make money off of us for the same stuff we already bought. Think about it, they brought back the cosmodrom for no apparent reason. Idk about any of yall but i distinctly remember buying this with destiny 1. My point being that they have been doing this with rereleased exotics and activities carried over from d1 all throughout d2. They just now are doing it on much larger scale. Im sry guys but we have been bought and sold to the almightly dollar capitolism at it best

I am very familiar with Bungie business model and it stinks.. the reselling, re-skin, and reissue is garbage. That still doesn't answer question as to why their leveling system is terrible, and to why old content is made irrelevant because of a power cap.. it only limits player progression. Players want more to do, make older content playable again by upping the level of drops. Players are to busy chasing the power cap to play old. I would carry people through just for the rewards.. I do it now with the nightfalls
