I think you represent the group of people that will like this game the most. If you didn't like previous titles, I can see how this game would appeal to you. I'm the opposite. As a big fan since the first game launched, I'm not happy at all with the direction.

See my son has been a hardcore fan since at least 3. He's pretty excited about it. He literally has 3 framed posters of various Fallout things, t-shirts, pre-orders anything fallout related. He's been nothing but excited and tells me he can't wait to dive in. Is that strange?

I suppose not. I think younger players really favor playing with friends above all else.

Naw, my son is the same way. Fallout is his main game which he pretty much completely dropped Destiny for. He is just biding his time with the new COD until Fallout 76 hits. But he is enjoying the new stuff in COD now.
