*Most people who are angry about Fallout 76*

"I hate the idea of this game existing, give me a traditional single player RPG" Me: Why are you still complaining? They said what the game was going to be back in June and that the game/beta would also probably break. The beta breaks for PC users and now you are all angry even though they said it will probably happen. Don't like the idea of the game? Don't buy it and wait for Starfield or ESVI. Gosh, the Bethesda hate train is stupidly toxic. Don't play their games if you don't like them and don't try to make other people hate the games too. Just because YOU don't like it, doesn't mean other people won't either. I'm also sick of people bringing up that they have re-released Skyrim to 3 more systems. IMO the Switch port no one should be angry about. People love to give Capcom a break with the 12 different releases of RE4. I bet that RE4 will get a port/remsater/remake for the PS5 and Xbox One 2.

  • Personally I was interested until I saw gameplay. The world just seems completely empty. An interesting concept for a new IP but I don’t think fallout should be doing a COMPLETELY multiplayer. If they had some npc’s along with the players with a distant goal in mind (I.e. journeying to the center of the universe in NMS) then that would be better imo. I get that Bethesda wanted “every person you meet to be a person” but I don’t understand what they were thinking. What did they think that players would set up marketplaces and shit? That’s not what players are going to do, especially not fallout players. Fallout players want to journey across the wasteland and this time, with friends. It’s like they want their playerbase to role play a specific way and that’s just stupid in every sense of the word. Have SOME sort of npc in the game, some sort of settlements, SOMETHING to interact with. It really just seems like a fallout 4 mod sold separately. It’s also still using the outdated creation engine that needs to be taken out back and shot like the old and decrepit dog that it is. Nothing but reused assets from fallout 4 but with a better color palette. Then there’s the atrocious handling of the beta. I know Bethesda has never worked on a multiplayer game but come on, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to determine that your beta needs to open 24 hours a day to stress the servers. Seriously what sense do these timed beta windows make? They said they wanted to stress the servers. Well if they wanted to REALLY stress the servers then why wasn’t it an OPEN beta that was opened for 24 hours a day for a couple days to a week or so? That would bring in more players and put the servers to the test even more. With a beta opened 24hrs you’re guaranteed to play it at SOME point. With this beta practice there’s not a guarantee depending on your work schedule. Not to mention I follow plenty of European twitch streamers and they are waking up in the dead of the night just to stream this beta. Bethesda is just telling the community to go -blam!- themselves with this beta and it’s seriously looking like they’re turning into EA. So with reused assets, an ancient game engine, downright incompetent handling of a beta, questionable thinking behind the game, and a game that is just a fallout that replaced role playing with multiplayer? I will not support this game at all. I might play it if someone gets it for me as a gift but outside of that, no chance

    • You know what was kinda funny. I saw a youtube video by a guy who was complaining about Fallout 76 in previous videos, complain that the beta wasn't available more so he could keep playing more Fallout 76. Basically stated through the whole video that the worst thing that could happen for Fallout 76 is not being able to play it.

      • I think complaining about it is fine. If they don’t complain, Bethesda won’t know there’s some disapproval in the direction they’re taking the series. However! If these people that are complaining about 76 then go and buy it, then.. Well, they’re a little dumb, no offense to them. Because no matter how much you were to whine about something, if you support it with your monies you are, in the end, supporting it—even if your voice says otherwise. Same argument for the remasters.

          • People will complain about anything these days. People complained about Diablo 3, ME Andromeda, halo 5, Destiny. Pretty much every single game out there. Someone won't be happy about one way or another. Hell people are complaining about Anthem. And it's not even out yet. I just play games to have fun and relax. I don't care about any bugs or game breaking issues. I actually miss finding the bugs in games. Halo 2 was a lot of fun because of them.

Did anybody really care about the story in the other fallout games? They've never been good imo, but I still loved the games. They did something different with 76 which is pretty cool. But people love to hate, can't change it. They will complain about everything they possibly can. I've seen a bunch of hate for rdr2 already. Even if you don't like it doesn't mean it's not a great game.

                • I was writing a reply to this post earlier but then the beta finished downloading and i gave it a go, it genuinely just feels like a Fallout game to me that just happens to have other players. Only issue i found is that having no npcs makes the world feel a bit depressing finding all these holotapes of survivors who've all died, but the storyline so far has me intrigued enough to most likely not cancel my pre-order as soon as the beta ends

                  • I finally got to play the beta a little bit. It has the usual open world feel for Bethesda games, just no traditional main story or other quests. Gunplay feels better than Fallout 3, NV and Fallout 4. Don't really know why, it just does. Graphics are better and the lighting is A LOT better. There is still the little stories and lore found in the world like usual for Bethesda games. I can't help but feel like it would have been better as a single player RPG after exploring around and seeing all the cool areas and such. Playing with friends or looking for lore is probably the main thing you will want to do in the game. The perk card system I feel works pretty good so far. Weapon and armor HP is nice, feels a little more like Fallout with it. It's also ice that you can change your appearance at anytime, not sure about the name though, but I wouldn't see why not. Being able to craft weapons, armor and ammo along side food and stuff is cool. The lag and frame rate seems to have gotten better since the last few days. I didn't;t play it the, just watched video, but it looks better from what I can tell. It doesn't feel like a cash grab at all. It honestly feels like they just wanted to do something radically different, whether that is a good move or not, time will tell. If you like exploring the world in games like Destiny or other "shared world shooters", I feel like Fallout 76(so far at least) is miles better. I don't really know how good the main quest is, because I just wanted to explore a little. It may or may not be actually as bad as the haters might believe. Again, I just explored, but it doesn't feel like it's just put in there for the sake of it. Taking the time to read notes and terminals helps build up the story and world.

As a longtime fan of the series, I am a little ticked off. They made a game that I have no interest in playing. I can't believe how dull this game looks. It looks like a title that will be fun for a few days and then fizzle out quickly. So, I'm not buying it.

What's toxic is corporate greed taking over IP and completely ruining them. They have arguably removed fallout from Fallout. Which is laughably pathetic because they would still say "we care about the series" while clearly not.

                      • first off, i was expecting a survival fallout after playing f4 on survival and mods, and was hoping a multiplayer add on, etc... but this f76 seems like a mess atm, so imo would be best to wait and see how they iron in out, afterall it is their first online sandbox, and we know how messy their single player sandboxes are. Call me interested next year, it's most likely in a way better shape then.

                      • To be fair a number of people are rather annoyed for a fairly good reason. It kind of feels like fallout 76 took the place of a proper fallout game. It would be the correct timing for another fallout game like new vegas to come around, a game that uses the general assets of fallout 4, but builds upon them, with a more in depth store and faction system, and just all around adding to the half decent base. But instead we got fallout 76, and interesting experiment, but not something a lot of the long term fans want as a replacement for a proper fallout game. In fact it is the same kind of reason diablo fans are rather angry right now. They were waiting for an announcement about diablo 4 and instead got a mobile diablo game. Something that feels like it took the place of what would have been a proper diablo game. People are fine with experiments and trying new things, but not so much when it means a replacement of what they know and love.

It's basically just Fallout 4 survival mode with co-op in a better setting.
The only turn off about that is the Fallout 4 part.
• I have some interest in this game and lately I have seen a bunch of pissed off beta people. I seen Skillup saying the beta was trash just last night. Its like launching in 2 weeks. I think I will wait and see on this title. Fallout has never been a series I liked, but I was hoping 76 changes that for me. Hearing about how buggy it is, its making me shy away from it now. My son pre-ordered it and he's a fallout junkie. I have yet to hear him say anything bad about it and he's still excited and thinks it will be fun and a nice change of pace. I hope he's right.

It's a game series that's well known trying something that breaks it's own mold. Maybe it will be great, maybe it will be a disaster. I'm going to get it since I'm curious.
