I'm not going to try and defend bungie or the community here but here is my thoughts on your thoughts. Players cried for nerfs and they received them, the first round was purely based on statistics bungie had, so they decided to cry for a gally nerf because they couldn't get them. Now you don't need a Gally to complete anything, it simply makes it easier so no skin off anyone's nose besides the few who want to race through stuff without learning the encounter. Thorn/TLW/suros/vex these weapons did need some tuning but not to the extent some of them have received. I can't say what thorn or TLW will be like yet but it doesn't seem that bad, that said the AR nerf didn't seem that bad until actual numbers came out, bungie said it would be 2.5% and on some it was 14% this is bungie pissing people off by lying and not trying to piss people off. Bungie put themselves in the need to nerf gally situation themselves, I don't mind but I see where people would be pissed. Bungie decided to exclude match making and told players flat out its up to you to find your fire teams, this will always lead to people being excluded for activities based on gear/playtime/titles/KDR/etc etc.. Now if you were picking a base ball team and you were allowed to chose whatever you wanted for a prerequisite would you want people who you knew (just statistically) would be able to hit home runs or people who you weren't sure about? I see that as a gally basically you chose your team with the highest statistically chance for success, not saying it will work but statistically you should be able to win easily. Now in regards to year one rewards I still see that as a slap in the face. Luke comes out and acts like people will just throw money at them if something looks cool then after the community uproar they charge 20$ for the extras. Now I know a game gets cheaper as it ages, multiple mmos charge full price for expansions when they are new and then let you get multiple ones for the price of a new expansion later in the game. It's a great way to lure in new players as they get way more content for way less money, the down side is you lose out on the chance to play those activities while they are relevant. The problem I have is Luke acting like... Well a dickhead and then not offering a collectors edition for the same 20$ over base game price for vets but simply the cosmetic stuff, 60$ game (vanilla/TDB/HOW/TTK) add 20$ for the collectors edition with tons of extra crap not besides the in game stuff then for vets 40$ for TTK and another 20$ for the digital stuff without all the physical extras anyone else gets for 20$. You do say bungie is listening to us but honestly I think they are more monitoring us then actually listening to feedback. Take the vault space for example how long did people cry out for more? Then they decided to check our vaults and because most weren't full, besides the fact that if you had a full vault you were basically stuck with your setup if your char was full, they only gave us a few extra slots. I will give them half a praise for finally fixing weapons retroactively instead of going forwards from the patch as people who horde everything have a significant advantage then a new player, I mean why should a gun dropped on day one do more dmg then a new gun dropped after TTK? The auto rifle nerf was another shinning example of that as they used statistics with that nerf for both pvp and PVE. Then you have the patches for any cheese and the speed at they are able to fix those but other things go on the back burner that are more game breaking then a cheese. The perfect example would be after the patch with teleports and bubbles during aetheon, how long did that take to fix when you could play the raid how they wanted perfectly only to be killed by a bug that has been out for 3 months. I do see where you are saying they are improving the game for us but I can't agree with you. I personally think they are patching the game for they way they think we should play. Be it by nerfing weapons that a player uses in an unconventional way or a player who finds an alternative way to pass part of the game. Now the biggest thing I think people are upset about to this day is the massive amount of fluff that went into the game, basically being told this is the best steak dinner you will ever have with the highest grade ingredients possible only to be served craft Mac and cheese, instant mashed potatoes with jarred gravy and a piece of chopped steak. I can't blame anyone for still reading a menu and expecting something only to be gave something else, now this doesn't extend to no raid in HoW or the changes that have happened but simply the base game without letting review it until they launched the game.
