Have you ever heard anyone say that the Madden games are incomplete? Every madden game is essentially identical with minor updates to rosters and a few feature additions. There is no story and aside from some of them that have added preseason training tutorial things every game in Madden is basically the same thing. I do agree that the way Bungie told the story in Destiny had some issues. There is a story there though and it's not all that bad. It's not a huge in depth story arc but that is because it's part of a much larger story arch that will be developed over the long term. It could have been better yes, but that's true with a lot of stories. I personally feel that there is $60 worth of content in the game. There's a 10-12 hour campaign and multiplayer which is pretty standard for a lot of fps type games. Gears of War, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Halo, etc.. all have a similar amount of content. I've personally put in over 200 hours into Destiny and had fun every single hour of it. If I wasn't enjoying it I would stop playing and move on to a different game. The Gears of War series I never put more than 12-14 hours into any one of the four games. They were fun, but I found the multiplayer lacking and ended up only playing the campaigns. To give another example, If a game had a terrible story but the gameplay was really fun, I would probably still play the game. I put in a lot of hours into minecraft and that doesn't even have a story besides you awoke on a beach. If a game had a terrific story but the gameplay was horrible I probably wouldn't play the game. Story alone does not usually make or break a game, the gameplay does and that is one thing Destiny has down pretty solid with Destiny.

You can't compare sports games to anything except maybe cod but you really can't even then. Destiny has all content spread very thin. For people to connect with it, it has to have a decent story...not even good just a decent story. People always bring up the story that's hidden. Dood. If somebody did starwars' s Story like that people would be piiiissed. You can't have a story that you have to go back and listen 100 times just so you can speculate on what's happening. Everyone who played the game the first time didn't know anything about what they were talking about which separates you from the story. You can't connect with it like that.

Nothing from the grimoire included. It's funny that you bring up Star Wars because it has a lot of similarities to the first star wars movie Ep. 4 A New Hope. I didn't catch everything the first play through of the story myself. This was mostly due to the fact that I was trying to rush and get ready for the raid.

There are people on this thread that stated they got this story on their first play through, so no it didn't happen to everyone and anyone. It may have happened to a lot of people I agree, but to say everyone is a exaggeration. When I slowed down leveling my alt characters I really started to notice a lot more in the game. It wasn't until my 3rd character that I noticed the Ketch knocking over the rocket towers in the Divide during the first mission. I personally like the grimoire cards. I read them on break at work or when I'm riding somewhere in the car. Let's me stay connected to the game even when I'm not playing. They definitely go into more depth for a lot of things but they are not required to read in order to understand the story in Destiny.

Without grimore cards we would have to wait until destiny 2 to possible find out things that happend in destiny like the stranger...all we know is that she isn't a gaurdian and that she told us to do things and we did it...why did we follow the instructions of some stranger.??

We don't know where she's from...no one in the game or out ever said she was from the future...we speculated that!

Yep. Or she is involved with the vex. Someone told me they noticed that the precursor vex look new and shiny but the decedent's look rusted and worn which is very very interesting. But what I've been saying is that there's not enough story in the game to make any connection...the hypothetical story is beyond amazing it's just not in the game.

While it's not in the base game my thoughts on the vex models are that the descendant vex are the original models. It took many hundreds of years to perfect their time travel methods. In the far future they decided to send forces back in the past to alter their timeline. They send their newest model lines to the past. They are now the precursors since they exist in time before the older model line. Since the vex share one mind there is no reason to dismantle the old models while they can still be put to use.
