Reading this is f*cking laughable. Before i say anything, you're defending getting d*cked in the arse.
"Sometimes the DLC is even ready before the original game is released. This doesn't mean that it is owed to you and should be in the original game. That's not how it works. You knew that there would be DLC and you knew that it wouldn't be in the original game"
This should never be the case with any game, because why would the developers be working on future content when the original game isnt finished? The developers time should be spent on the vanilla game, not any add ons or dlc. If it is thats just a clear sign of them lubing up their fat cock to stick in your arse.
You talk about the different phases of making a game, which we all know about and you're trying to defend them saying they needed more time? Or they didnt have enough time so made dlc to make up for it? No just f*ck off you don't have 4 years to develop a game and then say "they need more time" more time for what? To jack off to sales figures? They had 4 years!! Thats a lifetime in game development.
If you try and say they sell dlc to make up for costs thats absolute bullsh*t because most of the money they soent was on marketing and hyping the game up so people couldn't wait to get their hands on it. This is what sold most of the copies of destiny i guarentee destiny wouldn't have sold nearly as many units if the marketing budget would have been chopped down to 1/4 of what it was.
Lets take cod 6 for example.
50 million to make
150+ million on marketing.
I cannot beleive you're trying to defend bungie/activision for blatently f*cking you.

Think of it like an assembly line. Have you ever seen an assembly line where they wait for each item to make it fully through the assembly line before starting the next item? There are different teams that work on games that have very different skills and tasks to do. To give an example we'll simplify it down to three teams. Team 1: artists and writers, Team 2: engineers, Team 3: QA/Testing. Now there are phases that the development goes through. Pre-production, production, qa. Now there is also some overlap at times. The artists and writers might still be need during the beginning of production, and the QA is needed in the middle of production. But at a certain point the artists and writers finish with all of their work while the engineers are in development. In your view these artists and writers should twiddle their thumbs for the next few months while they wait on the engineers and qa to finish the game. In reality the artists and writers start on their next project like an assembly line. Let's say that the next project is going to be a small $20 game instead of DLC. While the engineers are working on the base game the writers and artists work on the small game. Then when the base game goes to QA, the engineers start on the small game. If during this process the small game is ready for release at the same time as the base game, would you say that Bungie owes you the small game for free? This makes no sense as it was never mentioned to be in the base game and it was known that it was separate. When talking about the different phases, it's not about the company needing more time. It's about using the time they have efficiently. I never said DLC was about making up their costs either. You might want to reread the article or read the Ars Technica article.

Wow. Dumb.

You are a -blam!-ing dumbass. CAN YOU NOT THINK?! NOT EVERYONE WORKS ON THE SAME THING MAN. Someone who majors in arts and visuals isnt going to be -blam!-ing working on bugs and shit. Instead, they'll be asked to work on arts and visuals of future content. GROW THE -blam!- UP AND STOP TRYING TO BE THE SMARTEST PERSON AROUND HERE. You and everyone else mindlessly attack and attack. You become followers of the negative ass whipes lurking the forums. Seelf centered bitches thinking your opinion is what everyone has. IM TIRED OF IT. IM TIRED OF MORONS LIKE YOU AND EVERYONE ELSE. Bye

I agree especially because their is they cut storyline to sell it back. That's just bad practice.
-
Right on! There is no excuses for selling players content they already own finished or not. As a developer myself I hate dlc that is already on disc.. Its an easy ethical choice as I believe if you take care of your players they will support you later. This is just a money grab.

I believe if you take care of your players they will support you later. if only the board thought this way.

Gamers are loyal to a fault. How else do explain Nintendo.. All joking aside but I still think this is the only business that when you give the people what they want amazing things can happen. Case in point, Sunset over drive has a bigger Dev connection than Destiny and they never marketed the game to be like that. With its Dev videos in the game and community challenges Sunset does a better job at making players feel like the game is bigger than it really is.

Are you for real...

Absolutely. You think otherwise? You're the kind of idiot activision loves, just taking your money and your all to happy to gove it to them.
