As stated, you shoot the legs. You will see it fall to the ground, but while down, the core is exposed on the neck area, so you have to hit it from the side.

Even with a nice weapon and 2 teammembers it's true that it requires too much bullets. In one battle one of our teammembers left and we had to take it down. No ammo pickups appeared and we had to keep running waiting for the grenade and praying for one of the drones to drop some ammo. I guess that when you reach higher levels, the combat will be much easier, but it's true that for this beta it can get boring sometimes as it takes too much ammo to take them down.

You realize you can respawn and run back, right? You don't have to lay there dead.
