Leveling is accelerated for the beta some people claimed so it should take a little longer in full release.
There's your unfair advantage over people who aren't in the beta. Just because it seems like everyone is in the beta does not mean they are.
To reiterate:
...in addition to Bungie having more freedom changing customization options or other aspects of the game without having to worry about compatibility from the beta.
Bungie needs to focus on bugtesting and preparing for the final release, not making sure everyone's Beta character is compatible at release.

Again i am not saying everyone is in the beta which is a ludicrous statement btw i said chances are if you are interested in Destiny you are playing the beta right now. And that is entirely plausible by the amount of keys avaiable at this point. Sure people who are not participating in the beta for whatever reason will not have this "little" advantage but then again they won't have the handsome and permanent reward mentioned above. So either way whoever does not participate in the beta will have an disadvantage albeit a minor one. I don't really care if we keep the progress or not however i don't think its some major advantage over players who start from the beginning. Also why do you quote yourself? Bungie were the ones who talked about maybe keeping beta progress in the first place do you think they would consider that if they needed to focus on bugtesting?

"advantage but then again they won't have the handsome and permanent reward mentioned above" Hold on just a quick question. Ive red somewhere in the forum bungie stating that you should be there on the 26th at 2 pm pacific time? (Correct me if im wrong) to be able to receive that handsome and permanent reward. So what if youre not there by that time? Even if youre a beta tester

You will probably not get the reward.

Kinda figured that one out. Need to put an alarm on that one.
