Mississippi Religious Freedom Restoration Act signed into law

Mississippi lawmakers passed the final version of the bill Tuesday that says state and local governments cannot put a substantial burden on religious practices.
"I am proud to sign the Mississippi Religious Freedom Restoration Act today, which will protect the individual religious freedoms of Mississippians of all faiths from government interference," said Bryant. "Mississippi has now joined 18 other states to defend religious freedoms on a state level."
[b][u]Members and supporters of the LGBT community are concerned the bill will open the door to discrimination against gay people and other groups. Opponents of the bill say the discrimination could also be directed towards ethnic minorities and other religious groups.[/b][/u]
Supporters claim the bill mirrors the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act that was signed into law by President Bill Clinton in 1993.[/quote]

1 AntwortenMississippi - the most backwards state in al of America Does Mr. Bryant (the same guy who believes woman should stay at home) realize that this law could potentially make Muslim owners restrict woman from working there? It's not just one religion. IT'S ALL RELIGIONS.

To all of you that can't stand the thought of business owners being denied based on what the -blam!- ever. Let me ask you something: What would you do to make them serve you? At that point, if you're being denied based on how you're defined, the right thing to do would be to go and find business elsewhere, but staying and demanding service is just being spiteful. You could call the cops on them, have them force him/her to serve you, but would that really accomplish anything? They could just make up excuses like calling in sick, or taking a personal day just to avoid having to deal with you at all. Point is, if a business owner does not want to do service, you can not force him. Not only is it spiteful and immoral, it's also [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commerce_Clause]Unconstitutional[/url].

Meaning, that gay couple would have had to print the signs lest they face a lawsuit from WBC. If anything, they're trampling on the religious freedoms and rights of many other groups of people although they either A) don't realize it, or B) don't give a damn. This is just one more example of how far the USA has fallen in terms of being the Land of the Free. It's the Land of the Free so long as you're a corporation, an ultra-rich person, or a lobbyist. The common people? We're all screwed over and left by the wayside. Gotta love this new status quo. And don't get me started on how heinously the separation of church and state has been defiled. It is sickening. We're becoming a theocracy.

You never see this can and will happen. It's always well this is a circumstance that could happen so let's not agree with it. This is also about giving religious freedom to everyone, not just christians. And why is it always made about Christians? People always complain about Christians having a persecution complex, it seems like the LGBT community does too, considering any law that gives freedom of religion (even when a specific religion is not mentioned) automatically translates to "THIS COULD HARM US DON'T LET THEM DO IT" As for the actual bill, what does it actually say? Quote please, no "this is my interpretation of it". :)
