Since the play space is soooo huge in destiny, it makes sense to be able to do this. Your weapons wouldn't be nearly as accurate while sprinting though. This function would be used to lay down suppressing fire while trying to get to cover quickly, or if you just want to blaze through an area like a crazy man. You could also reload in full sprint.

Titanfall is perhaps the best shooter ever made mechanically. And shooting while running is the core of the experience. You don't need to nerf accuracy. It's insanely hard to be accurate moving as it is. It brings a tremendous skill gap which this game also desperately needs. The game needs to be faster.

I like to do the rub and gun.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von TheEyeOfOdin: 4/14/2013 5:35:52 PMI am a territorial soldier in the British TA, and we use a "one foot on the ground" approach, which means while one person/pair/fire team/section is moving, another person/pair/fire team/section remains stationary and provides covering fire. But that is a tactic for when bullets do real damage and real lives are at stake. I think that would make more sense than just running and gunning. It means fire is accurate still and people are more likely to survive.

1 AntwortenI like the idea of maybe being able to hipfire while sprinting, but as long as we are able to reload while sprinting I'll be happy. That is one of the most frustrating things in some FPSs.
-
Hip fire only not staring down the sights
-
How are you supposed to sprint if you have your arms stationary in front of you like that?
-
Sprinting while shooting is too much. But that's ok because we can sprint while sliding which is way cooler.
-
If we can shoot while sprinting, there needs to be sprint-sprint, where you can sprint while you sprint. But with sprint-sprint, you can't shoot.
-
I think shooting while sprinting destroys this epic assault feeling, if you know what i´m talking about.

1 AntwortenI say yes, but a feature like this is hard to balance. Accuracy should be very low while firing and the fire rate could be made a little inconsistent too. It would also be cool to see your gun kind of bouncing or bobbing around on screen since its hard to hold steady.
-
well i was able to see that you ca shoot while sliding

Unless you're directly charging an enemy, shooting and sprinting seems like a fantastic way to run into things. On the other hand, maybe you're a Titan and charging directly at things with guns blazing is what you do. I guess it could be useful in some situations. Personally I'd like to be able to reload while sprinting. It's one less thing to do when I get to where ever I'm sprinting to, and it was one of the many little things that Borderlands did that made me like that game so much. more

2 AntwortenNo. However it would be nice if I could continue on reloading.
-
No, I'd rather have the ability to reload while sprinting.

Why is it that when I read this post all I can think about is Han Solo

For me it doesn't even need to do anything, I'm here to look cool :)

Bearbeitet von Big Boss : 4/15/2013 11:41:19 PMIf I am being chased I like to sometimes turn and shoot behind me to try and slow them down. Always feels so cool. Doing it while sprinting would be fun.

Somewhat off-topic, there should be reloading while sprinting, but the reload should be slower OR there could be a chance of the player dropping their mag...
-
Sure, just try and prevent the whole accidental headshot by running in circles for a long time, because suppressing fire is cool and a great idea, but the idea of there actually being a chance of you shooting me in the face in PvP, when all you do is run around spraying in my direction is an already quite annoying premonition. But then again, that also depends on just how vital death is. If it's nothing then it's fine that one of those Lucky shots hits me in the face once in a while, but if death causes a major penalty (which I hope it does) then I would prefer that not happening, because then I'd probably rage full out and break something :)

IF there is a suppression element, at least in terms of slowing down enemies, a sniper rifle might be effective at scaring enemies or slowing them down. Example: *getting pushed down by enemy fire, Hunter is up front and doesn't have a chance with his sniper* Instead of sniping, the Hunter vaults over or jumps over or moves around cover, and sprints forward with this huge-ass gun with a giant barrel (sniper) and begins to fire extremely loud, extremely powerful, and scary shots. Add a yell and you have something AT LEAST very surprising, although I don't see any other options for the Hunter except go in for melee.
-
I hope you can just spray wildly behind you while sprinting.
-
I don't really see how you would shoot while sprinting. You go where you're aiming and I don't think sprinting at somebody with less accuracy and guns blazing is a good idea anyways. It's first person so I don't see this being done while holding the sprint button down anyways. I don't like it. I think that sprinting should be actually sprinting and not jogging with your gun ready, like the entire game is already. Sprinting should only be used to get to places faster and not in any way to suppress fire, you can jog like in the previews and Halo while doing that.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von ODSTJacob: 4/15/2013 7:49:47 AMHalos forced hip fire allowed for the kind of gameplay you're talking about. The great thing about it was that if you could aim well enough you could provide your own suppressing fire.
