Well, no, it was ruled by Democrats for the first half of his first term. Boehner took control of the House in 2011.

Well that's technically majority, but I guess you could consider it half. But the senate was still majority democrat though.

Bearbeitet von Seggi: 3/18/2013 1:40:25 AM'Majority' is a meaningless term when describing congress as a whole (And, in fact, the Republican party has had a 'majority' since 2011, since there are far more seats in the House of Representatives than in the Senate) - what you really want to describe is who has control of each house, and it's been split since the last byelection, which effectively means neither party can pass their own legislation.

You have a point. As I said earlier, I don't think Obama should take all the blame. I understand Congress doesn't make it easy. I just feel that him and his administration should try to reach valid compromises in regards to economic policy. It's a slippery slope, I know.

They seem to be doing fairly well with unemployment, though. Job creation has actually been consistently positive for the last two years or more.
