I'm just curious as to why we're okay with this? Obama said he would get it to what I believe was 5.4% in his first term.
Are you satisfied with Obama's economic policies? It seems to me like his administration doesn't know what they're doing. They're trying, obviously, but it seems to be lagging behind schedule. And as a college student, I wonder if the job market will be stable when I graduate.

If it were only 7.7%. That would be great. It is so much higher. It started with Reagan, but every president has done it, they play with how the metrics are counted. Military, discouraged, homemakers etc... all were counted and counted out at one point or another.

7 AntwortenThe irony of believing in conservative values and blaming the gov't for a poor economy. Planned economies, how do they work?
-
5 Antwortenno, unemployment should be between 2-4% obama has done nothing but make things worse
-
5 AntwortenBlaming the president about the economy is like blaming Ronald McDonald when you get a bad cheeseburger.
-
That was an unrealistic goal to begin with. Far beyond just being ambitious, it simply wasn't going to happen.
-
While I was replying to this thread I bit my tongue while eating grapes, godammit Obama.
-
It's also 4.5% or less for people with a bachelor's or higher so I'm really not worried. (for my sake anyway)

Bearbeitet von Seggi: 3/18/2013 1:19:04 AMThat's pretty good, considering how recently jobs were being slashed every month. Still, I'm not sure why you're blaming the economy on Obama, since deciding on fiscal policies is the responsibility of congress...
-
Yeah the unemployment rate is probably the most misleading statistic ever developed in regards to the economy.
-
Unemployment is not a good measure of how the economy is doing. A high unemployment rate can even be a good thing as it signals people are regaining confidence in the economy and are reentering the work force.

I still don't get how one guy can make anything better on his own!
-
Obama is pretty much doing all the wrong things. Only God knows why.
-
1 AntwortenAnd that's only the official unemployment rate. The real unemployment rate is much worse.

I am fiscally conservative so......I'm just going to leave this thread.

8 AntwortenAre his administration's policies being blocked or filibustered somehow? I thought I heard that somewhere? *wears deliberately stupid look on face*

1 AntwortenCongress has more power than the President. Blame Congress.
-
1 AntwortenEh. While you shouldn't make promises you cannot keep, the state of the economy is hardly any one man's fault.
-
Am I pleased with his policies? No. But I am less pleased with congress. It's hard to do anything when Legislative has the combined IQ of a candy bracelet.
-
1 AntwortenBecause the president has total control over employment, right?
-
8 Antworten"Obama successfully lowered unemployment, but not enough as he promised. Now let's vote for Romney!"

And yes, completely unsurprisingly I KNEW this was going to be about Obama! Huzzah!

Because Obama's is a genie who knows everything...

Bearbeitet von Daniel Fortesque: 3/18/2013 12:31:07 AMYou should be blaming congress, not the president.
