I agree. The current difficulty has reached a point where it's hard to actually enjoy the game. The game feels "tedious" rather than "challenging." This is likely because the difficulty scaling relies too heavily on simply bloating enemy HP and damage output.
This design makes it extremely difficult to run builds that lack specific stats, such as Arc Warlocks who often struggle with survivability. I believe one of Destiny 2's greatest strengths is the ability to play with diverse builds and personal styles. It’s disappointing to see Bungie failing to lean into that strength with the current balancing.

Is health your lowest stat?
-
Does a high Health stat even matter when an Exploder Shank or a Screeb spawns right behind your back? Does it stop you from getting instantly deleted by two snipers focus-firing you? The answer is no.
-
Yes it does. It buys you more time in midts of combat. The game also has multiple forms of DR .

The marginal increase in total HP and health regeneration speed provided by high stats is practically negligible when exposed to enemy fire. This is especially true in scenarios involving high burst damage, where the additional health pool fails to provide any meaningful survivability.

1 HP can mean the difference between getting to cover and a wipe. The game as of Edge of Fate has been designed to force you to specialize. If you want the highest survivability you need to focus on health and damage reduction like woven mail, void over shield and frost armor. But this will come at the expense of other areas. Play style is also a factor.

I don’t know what Power Level you’re playing at, but in my experience, surviving with 1 HP isn't a thing in this game. I’m already running a high-sustain build with maximum survivability, yet I still die instantly to three snipers focus-firing or an exploder unit spawning right behind me. I highly doubt a tiny bit of extra HP makes any difference in those scenarios. The real issue that makes the game difficult is the prevalence of these situations where there is simply no room for counterplay.

Ultimate. I main a solar hunter. My Exotic armor is the Young Ahamkara's Spine. Good tactics can do alot.

Health stat does nothing, what are you talking about? It increases health gained from orbs then reduces health regen timer when out of combat when the stat is over 100. It has no bearing on survivability.
-
What health does is part of your survivability. By your description, that's exactly what it does. As of Edge of Fate, Destiny wants you to specialize.
-
We could go back and forth, but my brain cells are precious and you're a threat to them.
