(on vanguard Onslaught) some players (any rank) go in just completely unprepared, no champion mods, no exotic armor/weapon, suited for pvp.. low resil just dying all the time.. so I would say no it is not for a newbie who is unwilling to read, equip.. maybe look at one guide...
I have learned to leave those matches.. matchmaking does need a basic prompt/filter/check.. to improve the experience for certain activities for all evels.. and like has been mentioned before a base teaching level or tutorial/check loadout match would be thoughtful.. I expect games in the future will use ai to offer suggestions at the very least

yeah I understand and agree with that.. I feel Onslaught became a really good testing ground for builds/weapon for me as a non-pve player.. but its base level should really be rank 5-6 (not sure what qualifies that just from what I've seen in the games).. so not a beginner level thing more intermediate my best prep was probably actually youtube vids on where should I go.. at first it was just Red War Campaign (it was still up like 4.5 yrs ago) and then the planets would reveal 1 by 1 and that was really interesting to me as I thought different alien baddies were on each...
