Edit: TLDR, just seems like a very slightly worse woven mail with extra steps
Based on what I’m reading, these changes are an overall nerf to stasis’ DR. 36% at max stacks with the fragment vs just standing near a crystal to get 40%.
The only thing that will save frost armor is the ability to get stacks being plentiful, but even then, having to build up stacks instead of just getting it is annoying af. The shiny new cooldown on making shards is also a lovely -blam!- ing slap in the face.

For strand, with the nerf to the fragment, using that fragment for woven mail isn't worth it anymore. Frost armor has more uptime, more easily accessible and heals + damage resistance.

Bearbeitet von ULiano_III: 5/23/2024 2:29:33 PMYour forgetting.. you have to get the full 8 stacks which requires an additional step to get to 8. So you looking at 16-18% DR at most times. So ya.. I dnno why the changed the Crystal DR. However, You lose the 40% once the crystal is gone vs now healing on Shard pickup and being able to constantly get Armor. So Stuck in small area with a crystal or portable armor like Woven Mail.

Atleast they saw Stasis lacked the survivability of the other subclasses They will probably buff it if they need to after FS
-
It seems like a net neutral. The healing from stasis shards and the freedom to move around without needing a Stasis crystal is certainly nice and I do agree keeping crystals up for DR was somewhat counterintuitive and difficult to manage in group settings. Making the conditions more clear and accessible to players who are not as good at micromanaging all these buffs will make Stasis have a much higher floor. It’s unclear if these make up for the much greater DR we currently have but I imagine they figured the more offensive oriented buffs (shatter damage and all the class specific buffs) make up for it. Personally, I think Stasis should have better DR than Woven Mail offers. Stasis is the defensive subclass and should not be outshined by a subclass that has much greater offensive potential, movement potential, and similarly great defensive tools. I think bumping the DR at 8 stacks of Frost armor to 45-50% might be better but I will wait and play with the new changes before saying that for sure.

Hasn't even come out yet. <

frost armor on paper looks very good
-
Gonna be better than woven mail

I think we'll get more insight with what exotics synergize with Frost Armor today, but from what I can see it looks good if you build into it correctly. Hard to tell of course until we have it in game.

I keep reading through the changes and my sentiment is only getting worse. It really feels like they took options away from stasis rather than giving it more.

Stasis haters stay winning. Lets goooooooooo

I wonder how this will work with icefall mantles now?

I still feel like Frost Armor will be better. Depending on how long it stays on you, and seeing as you probably prolong it by picking up shards it will have a MASSIVE uptime in ad dense areas. Frost armor also offers more mobility over the current resistance as you are no longer bound to your crystals (not that it was hard making new ones). Especially for Titan it seems as though they are putting a way bigger focus on Making a Bunch of crystals and then actually breaking them all to: 1) Do massive damage 2) Stack up frost armor 3) Heal I believe it’ll make playing stasis Titan more dynamic, similar to berserker but with a bigger emphasis on AoE damage over (single-target) melee spam. But maybe I’m just being hopeful, which I know is frowned upon here

Now its a constant uptime on DR without having to keep crystals around which is counter intuitive.

Idk, I view this as a massive W for Revenant, a small W for Shadebinder, and a slight L for Titan. Frost Armor gives you movement. You aren’t locked to one spot like you were with chains. It also seems like it’ll be pretty easy to maintain that DR forever with the fragments - and Torment gives a big bonus with frost armor equipped. I can already see a Stasis build: - Tectonic Harvest - Diamond Lance - Lancecap helmet - Fragments: Chill, Chains, Rime, Fissures, and either Rending or Shards Diamond Lance + Lancecap is already really strong right now with a good add-clear stasis weapon, so this helps that build a ton. This also comes on the back of a massive Woven Mail uptime nerf for Warlocks and Hunters. Just my opinion tho :)

All depends with prismatic can we have frost armour and woven mail because if so boom baby
-
Least we have repurcation leg mod And the pick up has a chance for it to be a armor charge So technically you can get it from shards right 🧐
-
A worse woven mail lol. Just like freeze is a worse suspend. Strand does stasis better than stasis in just two verbs and actually does outright damage instead of requiring follow up for literally every action.
-
Yeah I'm not a fan of the behemoth changes at all on first read. I've discovered that stasis feels much better to play if you just don't waste time building into shards. Now they've removed the options that made doing that work and forced shards to be the only way.

Bearbeitet von FluffyDragonZ: 5/22/2024 6:57:00 PMThe healing from shards is currently garbage so unless it gets trippled I see no reason to build into it for healing.
